Thanks! I just needed to know where the screws were. Mine were displaying "Out2". The buttons had become clogged in their holes. Flour and water does that! Unscrewed the circuit board (7 small screws - cheaper scales would use 3 at most) and the buttons and their holes could be cleaned properly. Back to weighing ingredients again. I reckon the guarantee has run out, since my scales are from 2004, and there is a fresh model every couple of years. You still have the BOX??
I am having this issue but only with the mirrors, mine is a rare colour and I am having trouble finding a replacement, also I am concerned a used part may have the same issue. Is it possible that removing the buttons and cleaning with electrical contact cleaner will solve the issue?
Yes it is certainly worth trying that with either contact cleaner or Isopropyl Alcohol on the contacts. It looks like it might be possible to prize the switch apart since it looks to be clipped together.
I'm shocked this video hasn't gotten any comments on it, but I just came here to thank you for showing how to take this thing apart. My kid brought his to me stating there were "strings in it" and the darts wouldn't come out. Twenty minutes into trying to pry it apart, I came across your video. Opened it to find he had decided to stuff a bunch of little pieces of rubber string from a Koosh ball inside, and he was stumped as to why it wouldn't work. Got it all cleaned out, put back together, and now it runs like new. Thanks again- now I'll be on the lookout for some thrifted Nerf guns to have some fun getting him back for the hassle! 😂
Either will work as long as you turn off the water to that section of pipe. For me it was easier to use a stopcock I knew worked rather than our very old internal ones.
The heater element has sprung a leak. Can this be fixed? The coffee maker is still working apart from the leak. This should have lasted longer than a couple of years.
It's weird. Like you my first one didn't last very long. The second (touch wood) is still going after quite a few years now. As for the repair, if it's a leak it's unlikely fixable unless you can locate the part and replace. If its part of the piping for instance you might be able to cut out the split part perhaps. Guess depends where it's leaking.

Update on this: the pressure relief screw broke off inside so now I'm in a pickle. I've ordered a new cartridge which comes with the elbow but my concern is how do I now remove the old one without being able to remove the pressure relief screw? Any help hugely appreciated!
I think you should be able to remove the cartridge ok - this pressure relief screw doesn't really do that much from what I can tell. For me, I would get the water fully off (perhaps at the street stop cock) then turn on some cold taps to drain the water in the pipes. Then I would get a large spanner and unscrew the elbow joint which would relieve the pressure. Once the whole thing is off then you can remove the cartridge and then possibly remove the rest of the pressure relief screw. Might need to be drilled out with a tiny drill bit perhaps. Hi Chris, I got the replacement and fitted it with success. Unsurprisingly the holes on my existing fitting to the pipe were completely blocked with lime scale so I unblocked with a drill bit after seeing your vid and all sorted. I suspect it hadn't been changed in a long time. Thank you 👍👍👍
Hi, as long as it has been turned to move the locking tab to the unlocked position it will take some force to pull it straight down. Depending how long it has been there it could be very well stuck on. From 2.01 on wards shows what needs to be done to unlock it. Then its a case of pulling down.

For me I had to complete this: Allow the procedure to empty the tank. When the program empties the tank fill the tank with fresh water and press the button again to complete the fresh water flush. When the machine flushes all the water it will flash the button white for a few seconds to indicate that the procedure is complete.
Hello, I've got couple problems my CD doesnt work and when i connect my phone only one speakers works but when i turn on the fm then 2nd speakers start working, maybe you know whats the issue with it
The sound issue coming from one speker when you connect your phone, I presume you are doing that via a 3.5mm jack to the aux inputs on the Sony? If so sounds like you either have a dodgy cable or the port is at fault causing audio to only come out of one speaker. If you swap leads or even wiggle or turn the leads when they are in the jacks does it make a difference? As for the CD not working, the CD on mine has been suspect as well so I expect going by the age of these units they are starting to fail. There isn't really much you can check without opening the entire unit up and performing some low level tests really. Could be a dirty laser being the simplest thing.
I have one from work. It's got 3GB of RAM and gets very hot due to the lack of active cooling (temps are only 50C, but a lot of that transfers to the case and keyboard, making it uncomfortable to use)
