I'm wondering if S40 (especially its battery) can whitstand Central European hot summers and cold winters? As it must be exposed to sunlight its temperature can easily exceed 50 C in summer. Thanks!

Based on the information provided, we cannot give you a definitive yes or no. It should work, but not over long distances. Please make sure that you use good conductive wire and that you do not have too much vegetation touching the wire. If you have your poultry fence first and then your cord fence, it may not work as poultry fences are often not very conductive. We always recommend that you check the voltage after installation to make sure it's sufficient and keeps your animals safe.

@@agecard16 In Europe we currently have a promotion where you get the displayed stand for free. Normally, and in other regions, there is no stand supplied. This stand can be used for earthing as well, but may not be sufficient when for instance applied in a dry area. In that case, you may need to apply an earth bar. That why we advise to do an earthing check after installing the device.

@@GallagherEuropeBV I have a raccoon that is climbing from the woods behind my vinyl fence and then walking along it. If it is just walking along the top of the fence will it get shocked or does it need to be touching the ground when it makes contact
@@rob8969 In that situation it will not get shocked as it doesn't complete the earthing. It has to touch the ground. In a system (which we also have) that is + - it will need to touch the + wire and the - wire to get a shock, regardless if it's standing on the ground or floating in the air (so to speak) I hope that clarifies it!

That casing looks so much better! Is the battery removable and rechargeable if it does go flat? We don't get much sun for the 4 weeks before and after winter solstice and have to change batteries on our s20 and s40 energisers weekly.

The answer leans more towards no, because yes it can be removed but to protect the water resistance of the housing, this can only be done by our service and repair department. But you needn't worry as you have a 7 year warranty, but also because the s20li and s30li are built to last and can go 3 weeks without any *direct sunlight*
Is the post shaft insulated from the ground spike? There is a lot of plastic in the step section leading me to think that maybe the main shaft will not ground out a reel leaning against it.
How do you recommend storing the electric netting fence for the long term, say, over winter or a year or more? Are there any hangers available or videos showing how best to store the fencing so that rodents don’t nest in it and to keep it off the ground?
What the heck with product manual?!*! Page 6 Overview with photo of the energizer and arrows pointing to controls. The printing is so poor that the arrows fade into a big black square that is supposed to be the unit. No indication of what they are actually pointing at. This was an expensive product and my first time setting up an electric fence. Who does your product printing?
