Without disclosing their patent, I want to know how the CZUR flatten books technology works. How does it know a book is curved? And then how does it flatten the page to give a good OCR output? PS I just bought a CZET25 and after ones hours use, I am very pleased with it.
The smart algorithm combined with accurate laser lines, digitally restores every curved page to flat books. You can learn more about it on our website: www.czur.com/product/ETscanner/technology#technologyPageTwo
1. Buchrücken abschneiden 2 Minuten Arbeit. 2. Kopierer auf der Arbeit oder im Copyshop nutzen und im Dualscanmodus auf PC oder USB Stick speichern. 5 Minuten Arbeit + es ist billig.
I have the same problem as the other folks who have commented. The video unfortunately does not match with what I see on my screen and I cannot figure out how to change the order of images. I really like my CZUR scanner, but the limited instructions in the software user's guide and the videos that don't help the user are a drag.
Do you mean how do you convert a group of images into a single digital book? Here's how I do it: 1- click the checkmark on the upper-right of the screen to select all images, 2- select "PDF" in the left menu, 3- in the popup window, I like to select PDF/A, 4- click "Confirm." The software automatically combines all images into a single PDF file. It's a rather large file but it's a readable PDF. You could always reduce the size of the file but creating a Word file rather than a PDF then reduce the file size from within MS Word, afterwhich you can produce a smaller sized PDF file from Word.
Hello Sir, thank you for your presentation. I need a scanner for one primary purpose: scan books and transform the text into editable format (LibreOffice). I use Linux Mint. My intention is not to use it for other purposes. Can you suggest something. Thank you for your help. Christophe
Love the scanner but the software can definitely use improvement.I run it on a Mac studio and had several issues with the software crashing, even with the latest Rosetta update.
I bought this scanner and I am very disappointed. It does not work as advertised at all. The lights are bad and uneven, the software is bad and the recognition does not work most of the time. Considering the high price it is a rip-off.
Same experience here. I find it really difficult to scan the front and back pages of books, and especially graphic books. I'm looking for a way how to scan books efficiently with this scanner. Tried to place a Plexiglas to avoid distorted pages, but then the scanner recognizes the glass (which is bigger then the pages of the book), therefore I had to cut the black edges off the sides. If you don't want to have sloppy scans, count about an hour to scan about 60 pages as editing takes a long time. Let's hope they'll improve the SW as the scanner is worth a third of its current price at the moment. Unfortunately, the seller wouldn't take it back since it's been used.
I haven't had this problem. I've scanned several books with handwritten manuscripts. Some of my books were wire bound. Those are difficult to center the pages but regular thread bound books are pretty easy and lighting had been ideal for me. Mine came with the clip-on light that attaches to the center of the stand. I also downloaded the latest version of the software. I wonder if mine is a later version than yours? I purchased mine in December 2023.
I got my Shine a month ago and had no trouble setting it up and copying text. However when attempting to scan anything like a magazine or photo with gloss cover, the reflection from the light ruined the image. Is there a work-around for that problem? But so far the pages I have scanned were quick and good quality. Coupled with an editor, like Photoshop, the copies are quite acceptable. Looking forward to more challenges. Good value for the dollar.
