I gotta say the Astro purple galaxy sounds better to me then the SLO 30. Which would be better at apt volume? I don't play Iive these days. Just looking for the best low volume tone I can get. I had an SLO 100 a couple years ago, amazing amp but just way to loud for how I could use it most of the time
Thanks, I've got a Junior and a Tv Special the original bridges aren't bad. Just a little pingy. I have two bad ass bridges but I love the original esthetic and I want a savvy for the Special. Probably both Thanks again. You have taste.
Helpful video confirming the PRS sounds like a fuller Tele. It cannot replace a Tele like the Silver Sky can replace the Strat as its too different. Both are very good guitars.
Great demo and the way you compared them. Seems like the Astro is warmer and smoother on the high gain. Which one to you has more gain on tap? And the better cleans fuller.
I was very surprised by the Astro’s tone. I would say the clean channel on the Astro is very balanced and warm. The SLO’s clean channel sounded great when we added a little treble and bass on the EQ. I would say the Astro may have a bit more gain on tap in the red channel. I still would pick the SLO if I could only keep one, but the Astro is loaded with usable features for today’s gigging guitarist.
IMHO, the Astro had more gain on tap but the SLO just has a different feel. The cleans are also fuller on the Astro. The Astro is a real bedroom champ but the SLO shines when the volume is cranked past 4. The Astro gets out of hand when the volume is cranked past 4 with uncontrollable feedback. The SLO remains its composure at any volume. Just my opinion. I have cranked the Astro in the basement to stage volume but not playing out.
This is the "angry Princeton I've waited for...bought the 1x12 version! And just added the discontinued 1600 Supreme, an even "angrier version with a bit more power.
You should switch the order from Most gain to Least gain. In this comparison, it all sounds most like an OCD since its last and has a ton of gain and character itself. If you put the other low-gain pedals after, you'll get more character out of them!
They're LRP, not LPR. Typo. I had custombuckers in a 59 335 reissue and played it next to my Collings I-35 vintage with Ellis. I sent the Gibson back the next day.
Can i run the reverb/tremolo of the 65 when using the friedman pre amp? Like can i have the effects of the 65 pedal running while the pedal itself is disengaged? Thanks
