Ahh! I’m so excited you’re going to try this out, Laura 😊 I’d love to see your final product!! And, as far as the mitered corners, you could absolutely do that but then it wouldn’t allow the bag to be reversible. If that’s not something you want, then you can absolutely do that ☺️
Hi Gayle! I totally understand your concern about my hair getting into the food, but I assure it does not. Working in a bakery taught me the importance of food safety, and I never take that for granted for my customer’s sake. As someone who’s been self-conscious about their hair all their life, this was my first step into fully embracing my natural hair. I know it seems silly to keep it down, but it makes me feel good about myself and that’s just what I’m going to continue to do ☺️
I think the biscotti look great. When we buy a big tub of them there are always lots of broken pieces. How do they taste? They are one of my favorite treats!
Thank you so much, Gina!! Knowing yours come with crumbles makes me feel a lot better 😂 It actually tasted pretty spot on and the crumb was perfect, I think it was the initial bake that scared me the most 😅I would totally recommend trying them out if you haven’t already!
Normally people show what they are doing not have the camera on their face talking about what they’re doing. People watch these videos to learn technique.
Hey Sharon, thank you for the feedback! Unfortunately, I’m not someone to watch for technique as I’m quite new to the baking world. But, I work really hard to make content people want to watch, and I think you would enjoy some of my other videos where I exclusively do voiceovers. I’ve had more people want chatty baking videos, so I try to sprinkle those in as much as I can. Thanks for watching 😊
Hey Donna! So mine is quite old from Walmart, but it’s by the brand Farberware. I checked and it looks like they still sell them ☺️ Hopefully you can snag one and get a working can opener!
Hey Ashley! I think you definitely could, but the ratio or flour and other ingredients might vary. I would suggest looking for a similar recipe with active, or tweaking as you go 😊 Let me know what you try and how it works!
Hi friend! I’ve never quite tried that feeding schedule, have you found success with it? I think, especially in the summer, my starters are hungrier and need a little faster feeding time. But, I’d love to try it and see how that works!
Hey Joan, great shout! I will say, I’ve personally had strong starters exist a couple weeks into making them as well as a couple months. Sometimes, the newer starters are better than my tried and true. I think it all depends on your kitchen, feeding schedule and how well you’re patting attention to it!
I don't like the voice over as much for the same reasons you mentioned. I want to hear authenticity. I prefer channels where the editing is minimal and makes me feel like what I'm watching is actually achievable. I'm a reseller and love watching the videos where they leave their children's interruptions and share their mistakes much more than I love the clean cut six figure sellers who seem to have everything together :)
Thank you so much for your feedback Heather 🥰 I’ve been feeling the same way too lately, and really needed some confirmation on how I could better serve you all! It’s also the reminder I needed to keep simplifying things and not get caught up in trying to be like the clean cut six figure sellers (nothing wrong with that), because that’s not authentic to me and how I want to show up for y’all. This has been super helpful, thank you so much!! I hope to make more content you want to watch and are excited to see. I’m so happy you’re here 🫶🏼
You can do it!! I have a video that takes you through the whole process of my first time baking bread, and it was truly a journey 😅 I promise, it’s not as scary as it seems - you just have to take the first step!
They were soooo good! I already got two requests to remake them for their birthdays! I highly recommend trying them out, I linked the recipe in my previous video 😊
Just wanted to let you know you’re doing great and don’t give up! Starting a YT channel is hard 😊 I started mine 2 months ago and wow does it have it’s ups and downs. I’m subscribing!
Thank you so much 😊 it’s definitely been a whirlwind and a lot of learning as I go, but I’m enjoying the process of it all. So happy to have you along for the ride! 🫶🏼
Thank you for the kind words! I’m still trying to find my way with filming/editing, but I really appreciate your feedback on my content so far ☺️ I hope you have a great day!
Hello it's the first time that I came across your videos. May I plz ask why are u using yeast with your sourdough as you claimed that your starter is good. Tx😅
Hi!! Thanks for watching and commenting, it’s a totally valid question! In this video, I’m trying to use up all of my sourdough discard. From my understanding, once you discard from your starter then becomes “inactive”. To “reactivate” it, it would need something to wake it up again (hence the yeast). Don’t get me wrong, my sourdough starter is alive and super active, making it PERFECT for regular loaves. It’s just not what I was trying to bake in this video. I hope that helps and clears it up a bit ☺️
Totally! There’s a reason all recipes call for “ripe” bananas, they just have more flavor 😊For me, it’s something about the texture that I can’t get past. Maybe I’ll come around to it someday! Thank you for the comment, Kathy! I’m curious, do you prefer all fruits to be like that, or just bananas?
Thank you for pointing that out Donna! I’m working on finding what’s best for my microphone quality moving forward. My microphone broke, so I’ve had to default to my laptop… not the standard I’d like to set for all my videos. Please let me know if the audio gets better in the next couple videos!
And so practical! You just wash it and it’s like you’ve got a brand new bag again. I actually use it more times than I expected to. Let me know if you end up trying it out, I’d love to see your rendition 🥰
For cinna-sugar on pretzels you do melted butter after you bake while still warm and then sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mixture. and BOOM! Auntie Ann who?
Auntie Ann who? - LOVE! Thank you for that tip, I will definitely try it out on my next batch!! I truly appreciate you helping in such a loving way, I’m grateful for your kindness friend 🤍 Also, Lake Eola is one of my favorite places! Happy to see I’m not the only one ☺️
I just started looking, but I’ve found lots of no-discard recipes on RU-vid for making sourdough starter. Have you tried any of them? Much appreciated.
Hey, Sherry! This recipe didn’t call for either butter or oil, so I didn’t use them. I wanted a crust on my bread and that’s why I opted for this recipe. I’ll have to look for a recipe that includes olive oil, I’d be interested to try it. Do you have any recipes that you suggest?
Friend, it sounds like you've had what's called a "hooch". I had it on my first attempt and realized it was my starter's way of telling me it needed more food than I was giving it. If you see a hooch, your starter is eating the flour faster than you're feeding it. I would recommend feeding it a bit more flour and less water. I've found the 1/3 cup flour to 1/4 cup water to be the best ratio when starting your sourdough starter. Try that, and let me know if it helps!
@@HappilyHomegrown thank you very much, I was thinking that was the problem but wasnt sure. The day before it grew to the top of the jar. then the next morning had the hooch on top and was thinner.
@@barrnyroyal1440 Yup, sounds like your starter peaked just a bit faster and was ready to eat sooner than you were feeding it. Maybe try moving up its feeding time, as well as adding a bit more flour for it to eat :) Thank you for the kind comment, it doesn't always go as planned but that's just part of the process!
Awesome video! I’ve not worked up the courage to try a sourdough starter until now 😅 and I think I will be using your video as my guide! I look forward to a video about how to make those bento bags! Yours is super cute!!
I'm so happy to hear that, getting the nerve to start is the biggest step you can take. I promise, once you start and catch that first sight of bubbling, you'll be hooked! Thanks so much for watching :)
