Somebody - a few actually have posted entire Bounty sntks, mostly remastered sufficiently - the 1980's Vangelis brilliant stretch of Jon & Vang, extroadinary Sntks, and at least 7 solo albums from Chariots to Direct!
I live and grew up in Bristol England the orginal pirate city....there is a river that goes into Bristol called the Avon and goes up a gorge for 3 miles from the channel. I have always thought of the old days Blackbeard and the like going up this gorge to the open sea and the Bristol Channel. I wish I was alive in the 1750s in Bristol
Absolutely tremendous. Even though this is a sample it’s a lot cleaner sound than the two disc version I have. This score was always very special to me.. as the movie. The full outro is only on the vhs .. I hope one day this is released properly in 4K.. along with the full remastered score.
An astonishingly effective and stirring score. A really beautiful work. The drama of that closing scene, titles and MUSIC. Just amazingly haunting and perfectly done throughout.
It is my impression that the ocean waters will take you just about anywhere. Sitting here, in the middle of the States, makes me bored. I would like to see the beautiful seas coming and crashing hard on the shores spraying on beautiful beaches in the early morning, mid day, and late day, sunset. There is a person that wrote that he thinks Vagellis' soundtrack for the Bounty (1984) is the best soundtrack he has ever heard. Is it just me but are the more meaningful stories told on film, not celluloid (does not sound as good) or computer chips. Have people that are allowed to work hard with arts back then, allowed to make such breathtaking pieces? Why even with some of the same composers, why can't they do that now. When I listen to Allen Silvestri, I do not get the same feel as his work in the 80's. Some of the work in the 90's and before, not only music sounds great. I wish that could be done, now, and do not see why that can't be accomplished. If there is something ongoing of why these times (ages) are to be so dry of emotion, even on paper, let me know. I am lost without good new emotional pieces of art: Audio/ visual, music and more. Why do we need to not rely on the entertainment industry to give us good inspirational work to admire? Is that because of other problems? I think so. Just what, does not make sense. Not saying I am in on anything. I am just saying there must be a reason for all the failure when people are around to make something so beautiful. Thank you for letting me vent, as I smile. Oh, by the way, I have nothing against Allen Silvestri. Not to pick on him. He is great. Just like Vangelis, we need more people that can do such great work that our eyes and ears can enjoy with passion.
Reminds me of the sort of intensity of Tangerine Dream's soundtrack for Sorcerer, that synth bass that just drums into your soul and really builds up the tension.
Mr Vangelis, victime du vacc anti vie des Davosiens. La musique qui évoque la vie la spiritualité, la transcendance leurs aient insupportable seul la mort la souffrance leurs aient agréable. Ils disparaîtront sans laisser la moindre trace..
A long, long time ago I watched the movie in the cinema under open night sky with stars above, in a small Adriatic coastal town in Croatia. Warm summer night, excellent movie & soundtrack accompanied by dear persons... a lifetime experience ❤This music brings back memories...😌😃
Viva Vangelis...!
