you are wrong about tipping, you are trying to impose the overdone tipping structure of the usa onto them, the service in cuba is usually not worth any tip/ the service is usually poor, if you want to give a dollar as a friendship gesture that's fine but most of the service doesn't merit it, better to buy large bags of razors the kind in plastic, money buys little in cuba, its best to give items. i tip with razors and the people are ecstatic, razors are hard t o find and expensive, only the dollar stores. this man must be some kind of humanitarian nut to push tipping so much, where does he come from a goody too shoes from the midwest? ,,, you are also ruining the prices for other foreigners or germans with the overtipping, its not the usa buddy, are you trying to make it into such? r
Being a retired man from the ex-Soviet block country I'm pissed long time ago by the communist dictatorship so I gladly leave Cuba to the people which think it's exotic to go there.
Oh lord it’s typical video of Yankee’s stereotyped image of the world Has the author ever been in Cuba? Is that one of the strange American with the twisted Ego who we can see here in Europe from the day to another 😅

Some hotels have a permanent booth where you can exchange money. That's what we did. And we waited for the exchange rates of the money we were exchanging to be worth more. Good way to make a little extra cash. But also carry travelers checks. Best way to go.
I bet they do; they make a lot of money from the exchange course from tourists. Your best bet is to go to a Casa de Cambio or a regular Bank to get the best rates for your dollars. Stay safe, and have happy travels.
The new president of Mexico is a communist. And has passed a new law that says the government has the right to take your property anytime for any reason.
the reviewers on booking do not agree with you, when did you stay in those hotels last time? and those hotels are no way near 100$ per night per room for 2
Hello, in the description and the first comment below the video, I have provided links where you can book it for that price, but that is per person, not for 2. Some have only room rates; check them out.
Seem like I did all right before the tips Always wear sun glasses try to make a bargin don’t just pay Tell them you got only 8$ if they charge 15$ Some place can drop half price n get pesos 50-100$ worth. It’s cheaper
Oh this is great bro. ❤ Thanks for putting this together gor us to enjoy. We'll see ya soon in Cancun. Cheers from 2 Canadians 🇨🇦 living in Mexico.🇲🇽✌🏼 PS l: 2025 we'll be in the Caribbean living. 🙏🏼❤️
Hey, bro, glad you liked these are some unique spots when you are in Cancun; where are you going now? What island in the Caribbean or the Mexican Caribbean?
@@TravelDroner we are actually thinking about spending a full winter in Cancun but obviously away from the tourist zone. After this winter in Huatulco Oaxaca
Last time I was in Cancun I met up with a gringo couple that had a book with them called “Mexico on six dollars a day“. It was copyright 1971 they randomly borrowed it from the bookshelf of a hotel they were staying out and they were shocked that prices had changed at all. That’s the problem if you’re not a traveler then you’re a tourist, And you become an easy target, and I don’t understand why anyone is a serious traveler would get off a plane in any foreign tourist location and expect to find cheap prices on rental cars. Do yourself a favor and the local economy, take taxis. A lot less money spent a lot more of an adventure and he’ll help the support from taxi drivers and their families

Wow, wouldn’t it be easier just to teach people how to be a traveler instead of being a tourist? It’s not like this is the first few years of the ATM machine call Matt they’ve been around for over 50 years, you shouldn’t use a flea market or Bar ATM machine ever, why do you need to tell people that when they go to Mexico you shouldn’t be doing it anywhere. And… What’s up with the rental car from the airport anyway. Are you trying to save taxi fare? Why anybody would want to spend hundreds of dollars for a rental car they’re hardly going to use at all and then they have to worry the whole vacation if it’s going to get straight scratched or a door ding while you’re inside at some air-conditioned restaurant or bar. If you do the math it’s always going to be cheaper to take local taxis or the bicycle taxis then to rent a car. Maybe people just need that sense of control or the illusion that they are somehow saving money and it’s more convenient. That’s absurd you can get a taxi at any hour or of the day or night specially in rip off tourist places like Cancun. By the way all of the scams this guy is talking about could happen to you in Newark New Jersey, Miami Florida, and yes even in pristine beautiful places like Carmel or Sausalito. PT Barnum put it best… There’s a sucker born every minute and two to take him. As long as there are naïve tourists that go to tourist traps there will always be hustlers. Stop blaming it on them, they are just making a living off of obvious easy targets. Again learn to become a traveler stop being a tourist or you’ll have to pay the price sorry, that’s how Wi-Fi is, you have to pay tuition to learn
As a Cuban my only advise is DON’T TRAVEL TO CUBA. Cubans are not allowed to talk to tourist. We are not allowed in hotels unless we know someone important like a general you’ll always be or feel harassed by police. Cubans are very nice and welcoming people. It’s the government that steals the tourist money not the Cuban people. THE GOVERNMENT!!!
Shoes and bra are gold in cuba...go off resort meet people..might even find a cuban kitchen...if you do ....attend...be the best food you will eat in cuba
Would you mind if my wife and I do a reaction video to this? We are getting ready for a trip to Cancun. I would credit your channel and link to the original video in the description.
