I was SA’d by my ex gf, the series was a rough watch and i could really relate to how he felt. I hope he’s doing better and can get the time to heal from all the trauma ❤
Years of therapy maybe gave you the perspective and ability to talk about it in an eloquent way which is now a gift for the world for people to relate to and not feel alone.
I can believe the statement of psychosis of Gad. You have to have a few screws loose yourself to go through with all this until now. And star in your own biopic as yourself. Narcissism is a psychotic trait.
the way he did it in the show really shows the difference between how he felt doing this and how it actually went. having one of my traumatic moments broadcasted eternally on the internet is so horrifying.
He kept going back for more. More drugs and more abuse, he knew exactly what he was doing. He was not raped, he chose to go there and take drugs, knowing full well what would happen. He's not brave, he's a fckn idiot who would do anything for fame.
I don't agree with the title of this video, specifically, the "mental breakdown" aspect. Richard bravely shared his most vulnerable self. He articulated his regrets, his healing, and coming to terms with his new identity. I don't see this as a man breaking down mentally but healing (catharsis?) by sharing his most vulnerable thoughts. Kudos to him and I think this is something that not only folks suffering from the trauma he experienced, but others who are scared to share, find acceptance for what they consider weaknesses they'll be judged by, can find helpful. Baby Reindeer is a great show on many levels.
all you need to do sometimes is say it... people if you going thru a trauma and feel you need to be silent, dont do it, express it to the world using art, using any tools but express.
I watched the entire series of the show. Tell me why it’s taken me until this very moment upon discovering this video that I realized he played himself in the show…. 😂
As a victim of grooming, I wasn’t expecting this to be a topic touched upon in the show. Nonetheless, I related a lot to what he said in his speech about consciously knowing that you are not the one to blame but still finding reason to do so. Thoughts like “It wasn’t my fault, but I could’ve done this and that to prevent it or stop it”. If the first 3 episodes made me like the show, episode 4 brought up something inside me that made me love it. Beautifully executed; the show deserves its ranking
BTW this is NOT a breakdown on stage…it’s from his play Monkey See, Monkey Do. Enjoy this while it’s here as he is removing these clips due to copyright…
@@alexb1312I think he’s spoken out about how he wants the real life stuff to stay private. Unfortunately for him, people who watched the show went far and wide as to try and find out exactly who the real life individuals featured in the show were, and they’ve succeeded for some. Makes sense why he’d try to get these videos taken down in order to avoid further drama on these individuals, especially if he mentioned their names in videos.
This was hardly like how the show depicts it. Unpopular opinion, but I don’t think the entire story was nearly as bad as the show portrayed. I think he was attention hungry and eventually got it, through exaggeration.
I'm just intrigued to know who Darrien is, the fans could perfectly find out, the internet is crazy, we are millions of people, they have discovered streamers' houses and many other things, this will not be a difficult job for the amount of people to discover the name of that idiot.
This man is so brave and I have so much respect for him. So true about masculinity. My great Uncle served ww2. Medal of bravery. Did one tour then entertained the troops as a drag queen. I am sure he had both male and female mannerisms but did not matter in thick of battle. We are human first before gender or we should be. To any men out there that were abused your story is believed whether you wish to share it or not. ❤
