Question. Did you have any problem before cleaning the MAFS? Lack of power ? Blowing lots of smoke, excessive fuel consumption? After cleaning, what was or if any noticeable differences? Do you also do a factory reset to remap?
I'm sure it happens all the time but allegedly contact cleaner leaves a slight residue (but it's still gotta be better than the grime on it). However having used both they both seem identical. I just went with the maf cleaner because they cost a lot to replace if damaged.
For me it was poor mileage and poor acceleration. The sensor measures weight/temp of incoming air and the ecu calculates the fuel required using the reading. Over time, the sensor gets caked in dirt.
I use Shell helix or Valvoline engine armour 10w 40 or for the falcon six 15w40 I've been using these 2 brands in my personal cars and all my backyard jobs for 10 years. So far so good. Castrol is OK as well. Any brand that is reputable and has the correct API certification is fine. I've used Shell, Castrol, Valvoline and Penrite all of them are good. I won't use anything else.
Need more then 5 liters 1 liter for the filter rest in the motor I use 20/50 oil and have never used anything else have over 750.000km on the same motor so I don't think that's to bad for a old ford
Vincent Battista - yeah i havent found much of an argument not to use contact cleaner. I just figure they cost a lot to replace so can justify an extra few $
Got more out of this video than I did my haynes manual. I honestly feel as though if the car I'm working on isn't all rusted out I should be able to get it done in an afternoon.
Best oil I have found for AUs is Valvoline Durablend 10w30 changed every 7,500km. I would never use the thick 20w50 shit but Falcon I6s aren't too fussy anyway and would probably run forever if you stuck olive oil in the sump haha
