Hi and Welcome to My You Tube Channel, I have always been since a very young age interested in ways to be self-sufficient and to learn how to Repair and Build things on my own while repurposing items to save money. I worked with my Uncle in his Repair Business and Worked with My Dad on going to Car Auctions to Flip Cars and Working on Home Improvements for our Family and Friends. In 1999, I bought 25.6 Acres, My Dad and I have developed this Raw piece of cut over land ever since. We have completed a lot since 1999 and hope to share this experience with my subscribers with Projects that we have already completed or will complete in the future so I can be an awesome Steward of what God has blessed me with so others such as you my Subscriber will benefit. So please feel free to comment to help guide me to make this channel the best it can be so we both can learn to be Better Stewards of our Planet that God has given us to cherish.
I really like this idea. I wish I had a small tractor to pull a rake like that. We have so many bramble roots that a setup like this would make life so much easier. Thanks for the video and best wishes from the UK!
Good design. You could make it really good by feeding the water that comes out into a large 'bog filter' area that consumes the nutrients. This would be an area that bubbles the water up through gravel to wetland plants and lets it gradually work its way back into the lake. That would be a really exciting combination. You could drive the pump with solar panels and windmill. Then take the excess algae skimmed off away from the area for feed or dry and burn it. 👍
Good solution my friend! I had a terrible water meal problem on my pond a few years ago and it actually made a fish kill from lack of oxygen. Lost most of my fish😢 I made a similar skimmer from a 3inch trash pump, but it was so powerful i had to hold it underwater or it would suck itself dry...worked really well though. However after fighting the watermeal this way for 2 years i realized i was being reactive to the real problem of why the watermeal was coming in the first. So, last year i got a pond water test kit and started taking readings of the water. I found my pond was high in phosphates, so i started treating with a phosphate eliminator and muck tablets. I also added an areator system. Now, this year i have some watermeal, but considerably less and much easier to manage. You got to fix your water issue or you will be sucking out watermeal forever. I definitely feel your pain, it was a nightmare for me! Best of luck!
So HUMBLE! Blessed! Your property is amazing, your heart is there and this is definitely positive vibes! I’m about to do a 6x6 (I think it’s a little smaller width wise and length but close) trailer with the Rustoleum Bed Coating. I grabbed 2 gallons because I’m a “do it yourself” kinda guy as well. I always want the best finished product so I’m always researching RU-vid and online to find the best way to do what I need done first. Online is definitely today’s go to! I never thought about cutting it. I think I’m going to do the same. To save as much as I can. How long was your coating good for when you cut it? Any pointer would help too! My trailer has wood as well which I’m going to leave the fresh wood exposed but all the frame and metal will be covered with the bed coating. Have you had any issues with it? Also, did you cut it to apply to the trailer? I appreciate your response in advance and have a blessed day!
Thank You so much for the positive comments ☺️, on cutting the material, l did so I could spray it with my paint sprayer but you can brush it on just like it is which I would do if you are doing rails since I feel you would be wasting alot do to Overspray. Thanks Again and Good Luck with your project!! Please Subscribe and thank you for your support!
I welded 1/2" nuts to the plugs on my 304 to make the removal a lot easier. Although the set screw on the very bottom is convenient for drainage the oil, it's actually for access to the retaining ring to remove the cover...not necessary to remove for oil change. Getting the cover off is an adventure if you ever need to (I had to take mine off to replace a worn sun gear).
I’m off grid in terlingua 3.5 hours from the CAT dealer and 1/4 way up a mesa on a sketchy spot. I’ve done this before but not on this machine. Thanks for the walk through. I’m 3 days in but I think today’s the day. I either get it back on or call the service center. Luckily they said they’d drive out here and put it back on for free if needed. 🙏🫡
We used to have this model at a golf course i worked at in the early 2000s. It was worn out more than any machine i ever ran, but somehow still worked. It would only run at idle for some reason , and when you dug with it would take about an hour to warm up the hydraulics before they moved. The thing was built like a tank, when it was new I'm sure it was a solid machine.
Awesome great idea on feeding your chickens with duckweed....Killing two birds with one stone!!....especially since chicken feed and eggs are so expensive
Thanks buddy working on something very similar but I ended up just cutting the whole boss off the end and for 75 bucks had one of my bosses many companies matching me out a new boss new pin new bushings tomorrow I’ll be able to weld out and put weverything back together
How is this holding up? I did the same to my machine last year, but didn't weld it. I did it as a temp fix, and plan on taking it apart this winter. As I understand it, the way to to remove JB Weld is to heat it, so it would seem welding would remove/melt down, or at least weaken the JB weld.
You should have used face nails at the end with a brad nailer, I assume you didn’t even use a rolling gun with hardwood cleets, didn’t mention anything about the nails you used to install the floor, I assume you didn’t at all because you would have to glue the second last row aswell then because we glue that down and side nail those pieces aswell!
Thanks for your comments no I did not use any nails since I used flooring adhesive for entire floor, it's been down for several years now and still looks and holding up just like the day I installed it....
Yes I did I used rustoleum red oxide primer first the went back with rustoleum flat black on undercarriage...Thanks for your question and your support of my Channel!
My project is now underway. Pipework and gasoline 750litre per minute dirty water pump now purchased. Can't help thinking I might completely rethink with a new design on the basis that it duckweed floats. With this in mind, a catch tank with an output at the bottom back into the lake might do the same thing but without the need for finer gauge filters.
Duke, Thank you for your concern on saving my Lungs, which I usually do but in the process of making a video it would've been difficult to hear me if you know what I mean. Thanks for your support and concern!
I love this concept. I had pretty much the same idea and found your video through searching for clearing duck week on a lake. I've just bought a property with a 1 acre fishing lake. I have virtually zero DIY skills but want to make something like this powered by 2 or 3 solar panels.
Hi Adaszko could you clarify your question I don't understand give me a time stamp of what you are referring too..Sorry but thanks for the comment and support!!
Hi HD, yes you need to wipe down entire surface with Acetone to remove grease and residue before Priming and Painting....The time you take to prep the surface is critical in a successful looking Paint Job!...Thanks for your comment and hopefully this will help on your project...Please Subscribe and Like for additional educational video's..
Chris you are right I need to create a video to show the components of the skimmer...Thanks for your comment and please subscribe so when I post the video you will be the first to know the components that I used!
Hi Sean,Thanks for the positive feedback, yes it worked great just make sure you weld the bushing with Hardened Welding rods due to the force that's going to be applied while machine is working.. Please Subscribe and Thanks Again for.your Support!!
Hi Tommy, Yes I bought new track adjustment pistons for both sides due to excessive corrosion/pitting from saltwater and we replaced the seals also. These part were around $400 from Cat. The Spring was $600...Thanks for your comment and please subscribe!
a jon boat, a pump up sprayer and a few gallons of SH, pool chlorine misted on the top will kill that stuff before your eyes. It's no where near enough to kill fish.
May I recommend adding metatags and hashtags to all your videos - and channel. Such as 'Letsdig18' - 'red poppy ranch' - 'andrew camarata' etc. - to generate more views and traffic. With respect :)
I know I apologize trying to figure out how I can correct it, if anyone knows how please let me know thanks for watching and subscribing..Happy New Year!!
I've got one similar to yours with the quill gear wore out on the hoe.Gear that moves arm from side to side. From what I understand parts are obsolete.Any idea how I can fix it?Thanks in advance
Thanks for your comment, I actually sold Backhoe right after I refurbished machine...I didn't realize some parts were obsolete..I guess I made the right decision.
