I'm just an old country boy from Arkansas, documenting my CNC journey from a Shapeoko Pro XXL to a Onefinity Elite Foreman. I'll be sharing all of my hits and misses along the way, and I bet by the end of the video, we'll both have learned and laughed and maybe even made a new friend.😉

And if that's not already enough to intrigue you, I'll occasionally make custom CNC and laser engraved signs and plaques for my clients all over the USA and Canada. Want me to make something for you? Click on my business card link for contact information.

Dude looks great. Your videos have helped me a ton. Only this is i use carvco but i run the same onefinity machine you do so you video about the add ons and masso help me. I do have a question how long did this take to carve out?

Glad to hear that my videos are helpful for you. I always wonder how many non-Vectric folks are following me. Anyway, VCarve Pro estimated the carve to be about 2 hours, but it was probably closer to 2 1/2 hours. Thanks for watching!

Thanks sir videos are very instructional I was wondering does it tell you the time it takes to carve a project? I’ve been shopping around for a new CNC machine. I currently have the X crave for the last five years. I would like to upgrade trying to convince my wife go with the oneFinity but she said she’s so used to using diesel pro from ex car if she’s afraid to go out and try to learn the new V card which you use. Thank you so again.

Yes, VCarve Pro gives you an estimated cut time. I started out in 2021 with a used X-Carve 1000 x 1000 that I bought on FB Marketplace, and it came with Easel software too. In 2022 I upgraded to a Shapeoko Pro XL and that’s when I switched to VCarve Pro. I’m not gonna lie, that first week with VCarve was pretty rough, and I was beginning to wonder if I’d made a mistake making the switch. But then I found Garrett Fromme’s channel ‘IDCWoodcraft’ and that changed everything for me. A little later I found ‘Mark Lindsay CNC’ and between those two guys I was able to catch on and get rolling. Now there’s the ’Learn Your CNC’ channel, which is probably the best VCarve tutorial channel on RU-vid. Switching from Easel to any other CAD software is gonna be a fairly big leap, but it’s so worth the money and time to commit yourself to learning how to use it.

Amazing. Seems like you're really taking your Vcarve / 1F skill to the next level lately! I haven't had two seconds to rub together lately, but I've been trying to watch your most recent videos a few minutes at a time... you know... like when I'm in the drive through at Dunkin or something. LOL. One thing I noticed in this video, I wanted to ask you about... I see you have your bits touching off the tool setter every time it picks up a new tool from the racks. I thought you didn't have to do that once you have them all entered into the Masso? I touched all mine off and saved the value, then I just let it go... but I have had minor issues with consistency.
@MitchellsWoodwork
@MitchellsWoodwork 2 дня назад
Hey Michael, great to hear from you! Too bad I can’t post a Homer Simpson “drool” meme here….”mmmmmmm donuts…” 😁 As for the tool setter, I went ahead and used it on this project simply because it was such a detailed carve and I didn’t want to take any chances without it. I think it’s still just a “security blanket” for me at this point. I haven’t had any noticeable accuracy or consistency problems at all when only using the tool offsets in the Masso database. Also, I had already did a couple complete test carves on scrap cedar before this final carve on mahogany, so I was tired of looking at it and ready to move on to something else! 🤭 I suppose I just haven’t had enough experience with the ATC yet to 100% trust the presets as much as I trust the tool setter. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Anyway, great question and good eye. Glad to see you’re paying attention. 😉👍

Hi, Is it just me or did I miss how you homed the Onefinity? I know you didn't turn it off and then back on so I assume you hit something on the screen to re-home. Could you share that? Thanks otherwise for the information. When you go over the tool setter and the second homing sequence whatever you do to home the Onefinity, on the masso screen is not shown.

Do you prefer Onefinity to setter or Pwncnc tool setter
@MitchellsWoodwork
@MitchellsWoodwork 15 дней назад
Between the two, I’ve only used the PwnCNC tool setter, so I can’t really compare the two from personal experience. However, according to their website the PwnCNC metalworker tool setter has exceptional positioning accuracy with a tolerance of 0.001mm. Also it costs around $15 less than the Onefinity which doesn’t list any accuracy information. You can use my affiliate link to save an additional 5% off your order at PwnCNC.
