Where did you get the router base from and what router bit you using ?
@wealdentool
@wealdentool 6 месяцев назад
I made it, you just need to space up enough to allow the overlap of the edging to pass under the router. Plans for the base are on the website under downloads.

FINALLY! The video i've been looking for for years!! A video thats clear and useful, Im not a beginner but even now, several years in, i've always felt I was 'winging' it and have never been able to find a competent explanation video on how to make these decision. This Video is bookmarked! Question, I mainly cut sheet ply, but occasionally i cut MDF and Acrylic/Perspex, Would you use the same rules between the materials?
@wealdentool
@wealdentool Месяц назад
Hello James, sorry for the very late reply, I have only just had a notication from RU-vid! For ply and mdf thios approach will work. Plastics are a little different as you need to reduce the spindle speed by about 25%, reduce the depth of cut and cut in the opposite direction as plastics climb cut better than conventional.

The added plate underneath the base plate does the trick. Thx for sharing

In the end you used a chamfer tool. Does that tool work on 1mm PVC edge banding

And the tip is.......... don't drill holes with the router (after showing me how to drill holes) da dahhhhhhh!! What a complete waste of time sir!
@wealdentool
@wealdentool 8 месяцев назад
The point is that router cutters are not designed to drill holes, but a plunge router with a cylinder boring bit is great for drilling holes.
@davelordy
@davelordy 4 месяца назад
_"And the tip is.......... don't drill holes with the router"_ I think you misunderstood his point, it wasn't "don't use a router for holes" it was "don't use a router cutter (bit) for holes', but instead get a router dowl bit.

Does anyone know of a jig that can be used with this along with a track saw guide to make cabinet shelf pin holes? The festool trs system is just way too expensive.

Take a look at the Bosch FSN OFA KIT - way cheaper at about £160, but still not cheap

Hi Acer, that’s right, it looks proportional but of course you can program it shallower if you prefer

How thick is your MDF, 19mm? If your depth of cut is 13mm, you're only leaving 6mm, doesn't it look too deep?

What kind of table saw has a small reverse saw to prevent tearout? That's great! I'd thought of affixing some stanly blades to a 0 clearance insert to score the stock but I doubt that would be enough...
@oblux

It's known as a scoring blade - most professional large format panel saws have them.

I see you have a router boss or wood rat behind you. Can lock miter cuts be made on the router boss? Or flat router table only?
