I have a question, I am a first time mom and my son is 8 months old and he doesn’t respond to his name and he do the exact same thing your son is doing, does that means autistic kids act like that or it just that he is just being silly? Please some help here. Thanks
8 months is a little early to tell using only 1 criteria. Keep an eye on things and follow your instincts. When in doubt bring your concerns up to your pediatrician
I have this exact one, which I do really like. But it didn't hold up like I thought it would. The vinyl is starting to peel. I had it two years when it started to peel. I have been hearing their new wallets are definitely not the same quality as the old ones. Have you heard this? Makes me worried to get another one as they are pretty expensive for a vinyl wallet.
LOVE your tips! Thank you! Yes! Just got a JuJuBe The First Lady BFF for a STEAL and she was WELL LOVED. Hopefully this will help me bring all her gorgeous white stripes back to life. Thank you! Wish me luck...grabbing my hydrogen peroxide right NOW!
@@TheMinimalistMama33 It did take a lot of the dirtiness out and lessened many of the spots, but I'm still working on this blue maker stain. Used Shout a few times too with an Oxy soak and a full wash. I'm going to try one last round of the trio DIY stain remover and see how it goes. But it's looking MUCH much better. Thank you!
Aw, thank you! I miss doing them 💗 my son is doing amazing! He surprises me every day. Life is good. About to get (re) married and will have 4 more “bonus” kids who are amazing. I can’t complain ☺️
New follower, this child seems normal to me. I have viewed a couple of your other videos and wanted to comment. And I don’t mean this in an ugly way at all or to disparage the autism spectrum, but have you had his hearing checked? Especially the video where you say a lack of response when you call his name, I wonder if he cannot hear you, or is hyper focused on other things and simply ignoring you. Did he have ear infections as a child? Or tubes in his ears? Just my thoughts. You have a beautiful child!
Hearing assessment is a part of the diagnostic process for autism. His hearing is fine. He was diagnosed shortly before two and is doing amazing thanks to early intervention. He will always have autism but he now has the skills to help him interact with the world around him. He’s insanely smart and insanely funny.
Ugh. Right away AUTISM...on the spectrum. How about just being a tad bit of a late developer. He's only 2, he's not gonna be doing your taxes lady. His developmental milestones are within normal range!!! You know that, the drs knows that, so what's the problem? You're saying hes doing these weird quirky things? You seem to be searching for quirky and analyzing every single thing he does. Hes a baby!!! I don't believe in autism. I think it's a label for being socially awkward or just a bit behind. Theres nothing wrong with being a bit behind. But you're making it out to be this huge thing cuz he ignores you or throws a temper tantrum...that's normal!! Parents these days are so quick to jump on that autism train. Why? Theres nothing wrong with him. Just let him be a cute little kid and learn at HIS pace ,not yours.
Thats ok no one needs to see it but you! "Visual stimming"???? He is tired!!! Literally tired and youre allowing him to take those dirty ass hands.... DIRT ALL OVER THEM and rub them in his eyes! I got ur IP I am reporting you, I certainly can't diagnose from online but cps will
Dawn break cool story, this video is 5 years old. He does have a professional autism diagnosis which he got at 23months old. He’s 6 now and doing great.
There’s been lots of research done on gut bacteria and balancing it with prebiotics and probiotics which has showed very promising results and healing of autism. Worth researching and looking into, God Bless
I saw your video on Thomas w regard to not responding to his name being called.... I’m sorry you have to disable comments. Your son is so precious and ADORABLE! My 8 year old falls under the spectrum with sensory issues. I know it’s not the same but I know how it feels when your child is uniquely different. I just wanted to send some love & support your way... 🥰
Thomas is adorable...he looks like a little Julian Assange. My son has Asbergers, but he checked out after his first birthday for almost a whole year...it took me teaching him sign language and working with him forever, and then a little brother...before he began speaking again. He’s always been special obviously...and things only got really tough at adolescence. Keep working with him and keep faith...it’ll get you through the most.❤️✌️ Idk if you’ve seen them use like a speak and spell and special computers for more non-verbals to be able to communicate. Blew me away how much it helps some.
Besides autism, does your son have ADD( attention deficit disorder) as well? My daughter has it and when she was little she did the same with trying to get her attention with calling her name or to focus on others things she was not coherent, it was like her own little world and she tuned it all out otherwise. My oldest son has autism as well. Easter seals does a lot with helping with sensory issues and helping with development.
TheMinimalistMama sometimes it’s hard to determine because it happens with ADD and or autism, that’s why I asked. My oldest has autism and he wouldn’t pay attention unless it was something that interest him. One good thing is you caught the signs early and can help him learn and function with more ease. My son is now 24 and knows when to take himself out of certain situations that can cause anxiety and other issues.
@@_kass3939 Even adults dont pay attention unless its interesting...myself included. That doesn't mean shit. It especially doesn't mean your kid is autistic.
@@_kass3939 At 24? I should hope your son knows how to remove himself from uneasy situations. Oh God lady. And now youre looking for add? Yup...load your kids up on medication.
@@laniinlove9171 my son was diagnosed as a 5 yr old. Some people with autism depending on where they are on the spectrum cannot function or no how to remove themselves from situations. Some learn to adapt while others higher on spectrum can’t. And I never drugged my kids.
This is what I pray first of all never give him vaccines #2 speak life he does not have autism and rebuke the evil off him in Jesus Christ mighty name.
I watched the video of hour son Thomas ; did doctors diagnosed him with Autism ? Because from What I see your son is very I observant 100% that is why he do not respond when u call him . Children are misdiagnosed because they are in the different look on life dimension! For us people with 5 sensors this is just not comprehensive!
TheMinimalistMama before he was born or at what stage he was diagnosed? I’m asking because I’m a Mom as well. And did u see any difference encore vaccination or after ?
Marta Bahr he was diagnosed at 23 Months. But I’d noticed subtle sign for months before that. No sudden changes or any “changes” after any vaccination. I was just able to pick up on the signs or “red flags” easier the older he got
She is right - many children are showing symptoms that resemble autism, but they are indeed vaccine injured. If you have had him vaccinated at all from birth he could have vaccine injuries.
TheMinimalistMama It blows my mind how many comments you get like this. You handle their ignorance with dignity, you’re a wonderful mother and I hope your son is doing well!
Your son does not have autism...he is concentrating on what is going on around him...he is very smart he observes everything. Stop calling his name so much and let him be....if you see him looking somewhere else like in the video with the road next to y'all...tell him what is it..... He is going to grow up with low self esteem if you keep treating him like he is sick when he is not.
He does in fact have autism and is doing amazing thanks to early intervention. I’m not sure how having him correctly diagnosed would give him poor self esteem 🤷🏼♀️he’s a very smart and charismatic boy and thanks to appropriate intervention and therapies is now better able communicate and be a part of the world around him will maintaining his uniqueness
@@TheMinimalistMama33 some people don't want to believe that autism is a real thing. And that people with autism can lead normal healthy happy livesm especially with grest parents like you who take initiative to do everything in their power to ensure that. Dont mundi the haters!
OMG THANK YOU. Its sad these moms cant wait to slap a label of a disorder on the poor kid. I read there's a mom that said she has 3 with autism. 3!!!! Cmon lady. The moms are the ones on the spectrum.
I have learned that Vitamin D is good for gut health esp for autistics. REM sleep is good for autistics too. I learned it’s because of lack of restful sleep even when he is asleep. Your lucky here in NYC they don’t do anything for you unless if you have the cash for it.
So, it seems that he has a special interest in lighting. Not surprised he has a special interest at this age. I developed my life long special interest in fashion at his age. Have you thought about hanging up special light shows to music for his room or safe corner? It can be used either as a reward for him doing something good or as a positive thing for when he realizes he needs to get away to manage a meltdown. Something like that when i was growing up would have been great instead of being spanked repeatedly and may have cut down on the mood disorders i have developed. Please don't deny him access to his special interest but channel it in a positive way. Perhaps show him how a potato or lemon battery works and stories about tesla. I am very grateful for my grandma showing me how to sew the basics and gave my interest a direction to go. Just a thought
colleen shaw we have never denied him access to anything he develops an interest in no matter what it is. He lived letters and numbers so much at age three we had an alphabet themed party. He even went as alphabet soup for Halloween that year. Last year it was space. Right now it’s super Mario 😆
Humble question. I saw how responsive your little jewel was in his earlier years, so I’m seriously thinking this was vaccine related. In all transparency do you feel the same way? Speaking as a mother who has a child in adult spectrum whom should have been diagnosed much sooner. I also have TWO younger family members who have been proven to have vaccine harm. Sadly the same one amongst a growing many that have been proven to cause autism. In closing autism Sucks but our babies are amazing! Just wanted to be transparent as well.
You should learn ASL. It's far easier for me to pick up and understand physical/visual language than verbal/heard language. Not sure if it's because i have far more acute eye sight than the vast majority but i can interpret visual and spacial information that is new to me much better than being told something. I found it helpful when my dad taught it to us kids when we were little, about 3 and also helped me navigate social situations with minimal social anxiety when he needed to tell me something. I also used this skill to help me get along with my peers in brownie scouts and church since they often would have an ASL choir. I wasn't diagnosed until 33, so it was more just dumb luck my dad decided to take on sign as a foreign language credit at the community college at the time. He would practice on us kids and was very useful when giving us commands in public or if we wanted to ask him something but didn't know how to go about it when others were around. Still do some very basic signs when verbal language is impractical but haven't had the opportunity to keep up with it since i had a change in faith in my teens. It may have helped me with my language abilities later in life, such as still being able to read french even though i haven't spoken it in 14 years and only took 2 classes in middle school and then went on to being a spanish major in college. Sadly my undiagnosed dyslexia does interfere with my confidence in fluency so I'm intermediate at best but i do have to thank my dad for the fluke chance that he helped me develop my language skills back when no one knew what Aspergers, autism, PDD-NOS was. I had the benefit of older kids being around me and like most autistic females learning how to copy. But i know males, especially neurodiverse, have a different nucleas circumbens ergo social structures in the brain. Might be a good idea just to develop any kind of language he finds comfortable. Mine was jazz and sign. Just dumb luck my dad noticed i was more responsive with it and allowed me to have those experiences at such a young age.anyway, thanks for coming to my ted talk lol
@theminimalistmama This is the first time I am watching a video from you, congrats on school, gerontology is an excellent specialty. My professor told us back in college that this was a specialty they were going to need a lot of healthcare workers in (because of the baby boomers) and the aging population is also living longer! I am glad you decided to check up on things when some of Thomas's atypical behavior seemed concerning enough to warrant a discussion with his pediatrician. I know early intervention will help Thomas's development. There are vlogs of families I have seen over the years and the parents ALWAYS say getting proper support early (for their child(ren) to meet their developmental milestones) was the key, and their child has flourished. I don't have a child on the spectrum, but I like being aware of children with special needs, needs. Thank you for sharing ,you have a new subbie🙂💜
I saw your videos on Thomas not responding to his name. He is completely in his own world with how he processes sensory stimulation. It’s not perceived by people who do not have ASD. I highly suggest researching how psychedelics are currently being developed and tested to help people with ASD. I’m not saying give illicit drugs to your child, but there are new treatments that can benefit him when he becomes older. A great book on the subject is- Autism on Acid: How LSD Helped Me Understand, Navigate, Alter & Appreciate My Autistic Perceptions by Aaron Paul Orsini. Sending my blessings to you and your family ❤️
Do you think you could fit a pair of womens tennis shoes, sweatshirt, yoga leggings, and a few toiletries in the BFF? I was considering using a Jujube as a gym bag. Also, does the Be Prepared feel larger or smaller than the average duffel bag?
Pretty cute. Ty for the review!! I ordered a wallet during the holiday sale and scored. It was orginally 210 dollars but I got it for 96 dollars. It's the beaded elephant continental wallet :)!
