MJ...Always imitated, never duplicated. We r still measuring the phenomenal impact MJ had and still have on music.... I've Seen recently 3-4 years old kids who just discovered Thriller, Billie Jean or Bad and .. just wanted to dance like him and have his jackets !!!! Incredible ! Usher, Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars...the list IS simply endless of artists that u do see MJ through them. Miss the Guy... Songs like "earth sont", "Man in the mirror", "heal the World" show how visionnary he was about our World crumbling... RIP MJ
Let's review the Gen X sports & entertainment of our greatest decade... The Decadent 1980 's . I think we take it for granted that 2 Michael's and a Mike were the greatest of all time. #1 Michael Jackson #2 Michael Jordan and #3 Mike Tyson. What a time to be able to be one of the few to tell your kids and your grandkids... This decade had 3 Goats. WOW
I saw Usher do a tribute to MJ at the MJ birthday afterparty following The Michael Jackson One performance at Mandalay Bay one year. There were only about 200 people there and Mark Ronson was the DJ, Paris and Prince were there and I stood on the front row. Usher came over to me while performing on the stage and asked me to put down my phone and then asked if I was his fan a long time or just for tonight?? A great memory!
MJ was the pinnacle. We just didn't appreciate him enough because we took him for granted. His 80s videos and albums are still miles ahead of anything out today 35 years later. What a phenomenon Michael Jackson was, the absolute GOAT.
