@mdecoma yes. The manual says to go back in a 1/2 turn. I usually stop when thebengine is running it's smoothest. As long as you're close it'll be fine. The goal is to get them all in the sweet spot so none of the cylinders are lean. That's how you burn a piston.
@Thatscrazy2293 Fabio sells them. He's in Brazil. I've never seen one in person, but he has a reputation of poor quality. You also can't drive with a bay safari open. The Glass will 100% Crack withing a few miles.
@Ireland831 I like the sound of the sidewinder, but it makes valve adjustments more complicated. I'm currently running the vintage speed exhaust and it's not only quieter, it hides behind the bumper out of the way. I did have to put extensions on the trailer hitch to cleat the tailpipe but it doesn't look too bad.
@@OldVolksTV valve cover breathers mist and puke oil. As long as you vent your crankcase and valve covers to a breather box you will not have positive pressure that cause leaks. You don't need to pull it with vacuum. The only reason why vent lines are routed back to the intake is for emission reasons. If you want to create negative crank pressure run a pcv valve and purge the gasses through the exhaust to pull instead of vacuum from the intake.
Hey thanks for the super fast reply , really appreciate you ! I have 3 cases in my garage and am planning a 1600 "grocery getter" but not "stock " counterweighted Crank , HP rods , 110 cam . Always full flow case . I even throw in a "windage tray" to keep that pesky oil in the bottom of the case . My other build will probably be another 1835 like I built for my 1971 van , 100mph in a straight line , "freeway flier" cornering not so much 😂 Keep on bugging !!
Hello I have a Combi Camp too. I’m unfortunately going to let it go, I’m going to restore it before selling. I have some questions who can I find someone do patch work on it get some value.
I am getting ready to change my rear axle seal, i was wondering what oil and how much do i put in when im done. I picked up a 17mm allenwrench to take of top cap. I love the video and am looking forward to getting started. Bless
most aftermarket shrouds are crap, VW knew what they were doing when they disigned it, and most of the crucial parts are left out including the thermostat, flaps, and proper direction vanes . and heat exchanger and decent seals on tinwork that isnt chrome tat.
The replacement of the original 1970 T2 flasher relay with a new one works perfectly for LED bulbs. But since the spade pin connectors are not aligned I had to make short wire jumpers with a male and female spade connectors. Then make sure the jumpers are connected to the same pin connections; 31, KBL, 49 and 49a.
I need to do this on my 67, thank you very much for posting. I'm going to paint it while it is all apart. oy ! I repainted the bus (well, my friend did), many years ago and it's starting to show.
Thanks Jason, you should get rid of the background music. Also, it would be so much more helpful if would learn and use the proper names for each screw and part you are referencing. When saying “ thingy, this part here, screw “ and then repeatedly using that terminology for all referenced parts, it becomes terribly difficult to follow without replaying the video over and over.
G'day, An update on my last posts. When making my windows, i made 4 plates. One on each side of the panel. But when i was about to weld them on l had a revolution from the VW gods. Why not use 3m panel bond. This stuff is awesome. Using this certainly saves alot of welding and the end result is very very strong. ✌️ Peace from Melbourne Australia.
Hi,I'm from Nairobi Kenya. It was a great video... Thank you for that. I have a 1302s vw beetle. Can I fit the safari window that you are installing? Are the safari windows universal? Please advise. Thank you in advance.
I'm a big fan of Old Folks TV. You lots of great video. I've been learning a lot watching your stuff to do repairs /upgrades to my 71' Super Beetle. My question is this I learned from watching Mr. Andrig's that he is no longer selling the upgraded fan that's on this video. Do happen to have or plan to make in the near future an installation video on his new product, "Evolution Two Cooling Fan for Doghouse fan shrouds" ? I saw a demo on his channel.
I made my Axle Seal Replacement video and I used a part of your video in it, thank you very much for letting me use. It is around 7:53 in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dSnBXpZ85-c.html Thank you very much!
That's a kit from bergmannvw.net. it comes with the shroud and the alt/pulleys. You need to ask for the 3 smaller pieces to be added. The whole kit is around $2k plus shipping. Be sure to tell him you saw it on OldVolkstv/VolksMania Magazine!
I'm having a hell of a time finding 14 for my bus I heard about some Hankook r18 vantra but I can't afford those I have a 70 bay window bus stock height my question is are the tires quiet?
They're not too bad. Everything else in the bus rattles and squeaks so I hardly notice tire noise. Discount tire usually has access to the 14" grabbers at a decent price.
