This is a great recording - thanks for sharing it! The quality is not bad for the 1980s (I suspect if the source - probably VHS - we re-captured today at a higher frame rate, it would be better still). Tiny's love of performing and sharing these old songs really shines through. For an impromptu performance, the band stays with Tiny's medley song changes impressively well, too. I just never understood Tiny's shtick where he laid on the floor and kicked his legs in the air (usually while performing "Heartbreak Hotel"). I guess he would do anything to hear the audience go wild? Looking back I feel it plays into his reputation as a novelty and undercuts how talented and what a good performer he was.
That sounds like his ukulele is out of tune performance at the women’s club of Minneapolis his ukulele was out of tune during that performance if his ukulele got dented when he collapsed during that performance that Tiny Tim did on November 30 96 or the one before The last performances he did
Hey I see what you’re trying to do, what with the collecting and sharing footage and all, but if you don’t own it or have any kind of permission from the owner, then it’s violating people’s intellectual property
@@UniqueCarsAndCrafts yes Tiny Tim first heart attack was September 1996 But his second one was at the women’s club of Minneapolis While singing tiptoe through the tulips and and after he sang when I grow to old to dream he started he started feeling pale during that song too it was his fourth to last song Before he did an abridged version of tiptoe though the tulips
Ok i would say this was not exactly a popular opinion even or specially in the sixties. For sure he is a contradictory and polemic guy, but i still love this multifaceted personality
"There was a big delay in cutting my second record. It should have been done in May, around the time that "Tiptoe" was big. But for some reason it wasn't. June and July passed and I was on the road working. By August, when I was at Caesar's Palace, we still hadn't gotten started on the record. One day, in the middle of my Vegas appearance, the trade papers carried a big two-and-a-half page, full color ad for "Tiny Tim's New Album 'Concert in Fairyland'" by Bouquet Records. This was a series of tracks I cut in 1962 as Darry Dover...." "According to what I later heard, some guy - George Goldner - wanted twenty-five thousand dollars from Reprise not to put it out, and Reprise refused. So the guy put it out on his own. Of course the album was awful, complete with overdubbed laughter and the like. In fact, it may be the worst record ever produced. In those days, I'd sometimes sing off-key for spite. And the tapes had been Lord knows where for six years. After the album came out, a composer of one of the cuts threatened to sue me for defamation of his song. We went to court and got an injunction against the sale of the album but it was too late. It had been distributed everywhere, including supermarkets, and before we could do anything about it, one hundred thousand copies had been sold. It hurt my profile. By the time we got around to the legitimate second album, in January '69, no one wanted to buy it." - from Tiny Tim: An Authorized Biography by Harry Stein, 1976.
