Catching is the most important position on the field, but the least understood and least coached. And most parents want to help their kid learn to catch, but aren't sure how to help.
This channel solves that problem by breaking down the game into clear, simple components to allow you to raise your game behind the plate.
Let's dive in!
P.s. Want to take the 7 day stance challenge? It will take you through the 5 stances every catcher needs: catchingmadesimple.com/stance

A tip for middle school ball is if you don’t play travel ball, you don’t make the team. Before my tryouts I’m going to play for the biggest baseball club in my area. I could still miss every ball they would still take me.
Coaches: "he's hitting 900, single handedly got a triple play, and every hit is an over the fence homerun. He walked during tryouts though, let's cut him"
@@codywest1130 I pitch sidearm and it’s developed a habit to where the ball spins away towards the first base side. If I exaggerate over my head I get it right on or next to the bag normally into the runner which is good so I’ve just continued doing that. For now my arm strength is lacking so I’ve been mostly working towards strong throws rather than accuracy.
@Michaellikescards Jim Brown walked back to the huddle, and Bob Gibson walked to the mound. They only ran when it was necessary. Performative hustle is just that, performative. Caring is about paying attention and doing what helps your team win. I'm pretty sure the Hall of Fame isn't stocked with the players who ran off the field the fastest. Rather, it's full of those who performed when it actually mattered.
This tip helped me with my swinging I got a triple one time because of this tip and also my coach told me that if your a righty and you mess up your swing your left shoulder out in front and your head will follow the shoulder making you strike out or hit a pop up or ground out… Keep it up catching made simple!!!!
@@Axel._.693 no i play jv ball thats not until the spring unless your in like florida its not even close rn travel ball season just ended. Ig fall ball but these are good tips anyway.
Listen I much as I like this guy don’t copy mlb players stance or batting stance. You got to see which batting stance/stance fits you the best. And I get it he is a really good catcher and all but he’s teaching you how to copy mlb players and to get better don’t. Edit:but you can copy mlb players swing. As long as it’s not Marcell Ozuna’s swing
No. MLB catchers utilize the step and replace method to throw to 3rd. That way they execute just two steps, which is faster, instead of your proposed 3 steps to release the ball.
