I did something like this for my self I got long hair and I kinda braided each side twist and then put another thinner band over it and I like it’s a wider bun so cute I just leave out my little side and baby hairs and it’s much better someone does for u . I’m a only girl and never had anyone but a friend who had 4c hair she was African and knew how to. Braid n stuff
To be honest I usually don't use a donut for thick hair because you can get a great donut shape without it. For thick hair I usually just do a regular classical bun and it ends up looking like a donut bun!
