Hi Donovan! Great videos. I have to do a roundhouse to head level for my blue belt in TKD. I can only kick at a 90 degree level now. I’m 46, and have scoliosis, and am wondering what I need to do to reach my goal. I have no desire to do full splits, and I’m super flexible with front kicks and ax kicks. But the roundhouse continues to elude me. Can you recommend a video to watch to help me? Thank you!
I don't care that this video is 3 years old I gotta say this. There are true martial artist then there's this. In no way in any self respecting gym should this ever be considered acceptable for a 5TH DAN!! I do not know what kind of Taekwondo this is but it is NOT real Taekwondo. In no way shape or form should a young kid in their 20s EVER hold a 5th dan black belt it makes me want to puke. I have dedicated 12 years of my life to Taekwondo and only have my 1st dan if I displayed a test like this on my 1st dan black belt test my grandmaster would have failed me. Also where the fuck is the sparring? I had to spar five 3 minute rounds against our gyms top kickboxers, yeah not TKD sparring I had to legit fucking fight for my 1st dan because Taekwondo is a martial art not a fucking dance class. I will say you have great flexibility but your form is shit and weak. I pray you never get into a real fight because those kicks couldn't tickle a toddler.

In the 30 years of being a member of the WTF and USTU and am very knowledgeable in the Arts have never heard the Term Dan pronounced Don. Congrats on the promotion.
Ive been trying these stretches!! Ive noticed I can do leg rises!! I havnt been able to in years!! Is this from stretches or weight loss maybe thanks!!!
Just a heads up. Your sites flexibility course doesn’t work anymore. When you go to purchase it, it goes to teachable and says that it is no available there and to contact the teacher or owner

Got his 5th dan with no sparring, no self defence, no weapon defence, no two on one sparring, no line work combos, no power breaking other than kicking a thin little balsa wood board. 💪
I think the standing leg knee should always be a bit bend, never locked. If locked the risk of injury gets too high. Just a tiny bit back from lock position is enough to protect the knee, that will automatically flex the supporting muscles and the knee is safe.
Excellent conditioning workout. At 67 my flexibility is shot but this has helped immensely hoping to do black tag grading soon so will be doing this workout before every tkd session. Thanks Donovan
