Hi Reece! Just discovered your channel but I'm having a great time! You basically help me finally make the jump into iRacing! Thank you for these informative, fun and entertaining videos!!! Respect!
I don’t understand why I racing doesn’t make you dive bomb in your words. Why is it ok to dive bomb in other games? I don’t understand your point of view on this one
Thanks for setting me back up🙂 I started off pretty clean, but gradually found myself getting subconsciously more aggressive with my racing. This made me realize I gotta dial it back a bit!
Great racing! I’d you’re ganna take this serious you should ditch that formula wheel for formula cars and GT3 type only. And get a rally or circle wheel for cars that have them in game. It will give you much more car control in grip and when loosing it since their steering racks are so much longer. Sadly the round wheels can translate to either or, but the formula wheels are a huge limit on standard wheel cars. Just due to steering angle available Again I usually match the wheel in game to the style wheel I run on my wheel base. The WRC from fanatec is a frat wheel for the price. Keep it up!
Oran Park is now carved up for houses now. I raced there in the 90s. and viewed many a race. super sad to see it go but great Iracing got to scan it before it was ripped up.
The crash in lap 6, you say it was on you, but was it really? The room was still there for him, so I feel you were still in your right to force him a bit to stay wide... It was cheecky for sure, but nothing more than that, I think...
Great video, exactly what I was looking for. Getting into sim racing, looking at the moza r5 bundle to start out. This looks like an absolute blast, I'd even have a good time driving the MX-5's in rookie all day.
the first incident was 100% on you. u where miles back from him and pile drived him into next week. yes he moved over but u where so far back anyone would of done the same as the move clearly isnt on. even if he hadnt of moved over and u went up the outside where was u going to go? most prob end up looseing time fighting a move thats not going to work. wait and take him into t1.
I understand what you're saying and I respect people may have a different opinion, but I disagree hard with that assessment. I wasn't trying to go for a move, if anything I braked earlier than normal because I was trying to set up for a better exit on to the main straight as you suggested to go for the move into T1. If he'd moved over before the braking zone and then I'd rear ended him, fair enough, but I'd already started braking and was at the max you can get away with without locking up which would have sent me in to him anyway. This exact incident is the reason motorsports have such strigent rules about moving in braking zones, once you've committed to braking its almost impossible to change your course. I braked early and enough to put my car on a part of the circuit that was open, which he moved in to in the braking zone.
@xSmithyx the responsibility of the crash does have to sit with you as you are the car behind. However he did drastically slow down in front of you once you started to brake so it's a tough one. In this instance I'd usually let off a little early to let them do what they want to do without getting me tied up in it and then get a good run out to T1.
@@ryantilley94 I agree and that's what I tried to do, as I explained at the time I've hit the brakes probably 75-80 metres earlier than normal in anticipation of them being checked up with the space there infront of me to be able to do it, but with the combination of a) him slowing down so unpredictably, and b) crowding onto my line after I'd been on the brakes for about 100 metres at that point, there was nothing more I could have done...any harder on the brakes and I lock up and hit him anyway, I try to turn to avoid him and I lock up and hit him anyway, or I release the brake the regaining steering at which point I don't slow enough for the corner and hit him anyway🤣 Not mad about it, what's done is done, its probably a racing incident but is a good example of why moving under braking is not allowed in motorsports!
Thanks for the feedback! This was taken straight from a stream so no way to remove it unfortunately, but the audio mixing I think needs work anyway as it was much louder than intended! Hopefully should be fixed in future :)
That incident was net code . It took me a year of spinning out to finally realize you can adjust your break bias for heavy breaking zones did well to get second place with that .
Pretty awesome videos, watching your stuff, because I try to get my own first wheel + seat ever. People say get a logitech. But I hate that the logitech runs on gears and makes a lot of noise. Would you suggest a fanatic for a beginner who only played forza 4+5 on a controller? I do wanna get something I buy once and not like getting a g920 and than buying a new wheel. And keep up the pretty awesome driving. I forgot, so you use a triple monitor system and should I get one too? I got 3 different screens. 24,27,32 inch it works but ye. Kinda sucks 😅
Glad you're enjoying the videos! People make a big thing about sim racing gear, but realistically only the absolute top 0.1% need to get the super expensive equipment, it all depends on your budget and how much you think you will get out of it! I personally have a Fanatec DD1 and Formula V2 wheel, it cost a LOT, but then again I use it all the time for content or racing in my spare time....but then you have people way quicker than me on G920s so it is really hard to say! I'd recommend checking out Moza or maybe the Fanatec CSL DD if you want the best bang for your buck. As for triple vs single screens, I actually only run a single. Obviously there are benefits to triples but also you have to account for the extra strain on your PC if you want to go for that route. I have a single and I've been doing just fine!
@@xSmithyx Thanks for the quick answer. =) The PC is not the problem, because i got most of the new stuff you can get. The only difference, i have a 4080, no 4090. ^^ My current list is: CSL Elite McLaren GT3 V2 with a QR2 CSL Elite Pedale V2 CSL DD 8 Nm + QR2 Base Type C (i only have to buy it. :-D ) I think that sets me good for the future. The only thing i´m missing is a place to put it. I was planning on getting a "playseat trophy" for the beginning. Before i buy a big one. Since i don´t no which company has a good solution for under 1000€. I could use my different monitors as triple or try a single one for the first time. Since i´m pretty new to racing, but playing the new Forza with controller is kinda bad. I think a wheel would make a big difference and maybe after some learning, i could switch to iracing. Do you have any tips or games i should play, before i go into iracing? Do you think the playseat is maybe a waste of money and i should spend it on something better, more stable and comfortable?
Hey I like your series. But this was really unfair driving from you. U pushed Christian off the track every time. He was clearly faster, you destroyed his race. I keep watching your series hopefully it gets better :)
Not quite sure I agree with what you've said, I'm perfectly entitled to defend my position (it is a race after all), and other than the one incident which I held my hands up to he wasn't pushed off once? Even in that incident, it was the car behind spearing into him that took him off, not me! However, more than happy to disagree, and glad you're enjoying the videos! :)
You've gotta practice your starts man. You're sitting in neutral with the clutch ENGAGED, reving the engine, and then just slamming it into first when the lights go out without touching the clutch at all! Can you imagine doing that in a real car? It would grenade the transmission. Leave it in first with the clutch disengaged, then slip the clutch until it's fully engaged. Just like you would with a normal h-pattern car.
First time I have done a race with a GT3 on iRacing and thoroughly enjoyed it since the Z3. Usually run the GT4 and TCR cars. Now just give me my darn Aston GT3.
Not the car, but the driver! What a phenomenal driving throughout the race and especially the last lap! you just turned on your internal Nicky Catsburg mode and threw everything into every corner. just wow
