I agree with what others have commented: fantastic playing. What I particularly like is the leisurely, majestic rubato which somehow fits the character of the music perfectly. And it comes across even more strongly in this live rendition than on the excellent recording.
@@mtcpianist I love the pieces and I have the C sharp minor etude in Willaim Chapman Nyaho's African music anthology, so I may try it for my channel. In the meantime I've listened to all the others and I'll have a look at some of your other playing/compositions. And I really look forward to doing that!
I played this song in 7th grade, currently I’m going into highschool, so I’m a freshman 😭 I miss this song sm, it like lives in my heart (I play trombone)
Beautiful voice. Very good accompianist ! He followed you flawlessly in sections where you needed a breath and slowed down. I am sure you are even better now 4yrs later! Lovely voice!!!
We played this song for a mini lesson at the end of the year, and the way it all just came together even though we’ve never played it before brings me back to this video to repeat the same feelings I did that day.
I sang this in 1975 in a high school men’s chorus. We sang this for our winter/Christmas concert. Just as in your performance, you could’ve heard a pin drop. You gentleman killed this piece. Your accompanist is excellent. Congratulations.!
What a memory. It's been more than 2 decades since I played Paths of Glory on 1st part Clarinet back in junior high (later a middle school after I left). I might still have some part of it memorized. Good times! 🎶
