I’m happy they didn’t get together in the show cause a love like theirs is truly special because sure it can become romantic because being best friends has so much more meaning to it

The performances of two very attractive and skilled actors are incredible. The REALITY of the Lord M and Vitoria relationship is something else. He was 40 years older than she was. While at 18, she might not have understood his political situation very well, at 58 he certainly did. On nearly every level, he knew that pursuing her in any way was impossible.... Besides which, I doubt any of us would want our 18 year old daughter falling for a 58 year old man, no matter how nice he might be.
There are many kinds of love, and most do not need sexual involvement. He was a guide and teacher, she a protégée albeit a queen. They were both committed to love of country, and that mutual commitment generated a deep bond between them. Yes, each was probably flattered by the attentions of the other.That is a normal part of a relationship between two people, each of whom had much to offer. That doesn't mean there was anything untoward. Each recognized there was much to learn from the other and much to like. Love of duty, love of widening one's world, love of mental adventure tied them together.
I'm so glad Bonnie got a friendship like this. She deserved it. Kat deserved this opportunity. I don't know why Julie's racist ice heart thawed out enough to give us this, but I'm grateful.
Their friendship on this show, as it has grown into a pure and raw relationship is so beautiful. At first he would save her because of Elena, but Damon came to treasure Bonnie so much that he truly wanted to protect her because of who she became to him. That he would generally 'l9se his mind' if she died. It's beautiful. ☺️
When Bonnie came back from the prison world, she jumped on Damon full of joy. In the same episode Damon said to her: The relationship we had in the prison world of 1994 stays in the prison world of 1994. Bonnie: so you are continuing now what you had before? Damon agreed. Asked, Bonnie always denied to had had any sexual relationship with Damon there - Damon, asked, said nothing. But the way Bonnie reacted warmly to Damon later in several scenes and episodes, and vice-versa, can be questioned. Bonnie seemed to had fallen in love, but Damon, aware of that, wanted to keep her a little bit in distance. The character of Damon could not be long time alone, and without having sex to calm him down, despite he loved Elena. If both would stayed longer in the prison world, they would have become a couple, and it would had made sense becoming later a couple till Bonnie's death, or if Elena would have died. Instead making Enzo her boyfriend, to whom we never saw some bonds before. Thinking about Elena I will never forget some scenes making me upset. She let her memory be erased with beginning of season 6 because she couldn't stand the grief about Damon's death longer than four months (!!!) and wanted to have a happy life again. She fooled around with Liam and Aron because Damon seemed to be not good enough for her. Or how's about defending the work of her father, knowing he was one of the torturer of vampires in Whitmore! Elena said always she loves Damon so much - but in her dreams about her future she saw herself as human in a human marriage with human kids living as a doctor - and where was Damon in her dreams? Not existent, and she doesn't even realize it. Even Stefan saw the possibility of Elena leaving an human Damon later in real life. Meeting her after his death in Elena's dream in her coffin, Stefan recommended strongly his brother: he is the better man, the right man for you! - Somehow I doubt, this human couple ended happy, even when Damon love was so great and strong. And how can Elena anyway live as a doctor in Mystic Falls, when every vampire in the world would be searching for Damon to steal the cure?! (Which would kill him.) Bonnie would have been the better match for Damon.
