We are Ian and Annette, two widows from the English Midlands living a 'Last of the Summer Wine' kind of life in retirement. We see ourselves as being in the second chapter of our lives having lost our partners whom we thought would always be with us. Boy that bell recorded well; sounded like it was right in the room. Sure were a lot of contrails by the Arch. It sure has quite a history. Did you see the wooden miniature reconstruction from the 1800s in the museum at the Roman Theater? I was surprised that you two didn't get your picture with Juliet or a selfie wearing the Venetian masks. I was watching a previous episode; have you come across any antique, vintage, thrift or flea markets? Are you so sure Shakespeare didn't make it to Italy? There are a few theories that think he may have. Hi again, we're wondering what part of the world you are from? I had to look up 'contrails' do you know I can't remember hearing that word before but now I know. Yes there were lots. We didn't go into the museum, in fact there were lots of things we didn't do for fear of not getting a seat on the bus back and also it was really hot. Not to worry, hopefully we will go back one day. Thanks for the links about William. We will never know but its interesting that there is so much discussion on the subject. I realised when I was editing the video how beautiful Verona is TBH when we we walking around in the heat I failed to notice things that we would loved to have explored. Thanks again for commenting.

Been to sorrento several times its prob my fave place just gorgeous. We stayed at cesare hotel as well as the Ambasciatori stunning hotel! Ppl are lively food excellent love the little shops in the corridors of san antonini square
I have just been looking at those hotels, very good and the Grand Hotel Ambasciatori looks fabulous. We were staying on more of a budget at Meta but if we return to Sorrento would choose to stay in the town next time. Thanks for getting in touch.
@@me_and_mrs_jones so honestly I wouldnt have been able to afford it but what happened at the time (2010) hubby and I decided to leave the kids with Nonna and celebrate 20 yrs of marriage. We booked this 'tour' at the time it was called Globus and the web site looked soooo hokey pokey micky mouse and scam like.... but the reviews were good and ok and basic. I booked this 600$ euro tour of sorrento and campagnia... blindly. It included 4 night 5 day in sorrento and naples and cassino and pompei tour with lunches included and breakfasts at the hotels. So we check into the rome hotel which was mediocre but clean as anything and a medieval looking room with modernish bathroom.... anyhow we had to keep asking ppl and the reception if they made mistakes bc everything was so high end - even our bus was mercedes.... well we were nothing but floored when we arrived in Sorrento and the driver stopped infront of ambasciatori there was a dog on the road - so we chuckled and thought poor puppy the guys stopped for this cute dog. But the driver waited as we remained seated not thinking it was our hotel... so he said yup mr and mrs your stop. We were like no thete must be a mistake we didnt pay for this..... hes like nope your here. To our delight it was indeed our hotel for another 3 nights... stunning property. The price amazing. Maybe a fluke? Highly recommend
Hi, yes we were very naughty. The fantastic indoor pool is at the JS Palma Stay were we have stayed many times. I think we got confused and ended up there a few times on our way back to our hotel :)
Hi, we loved the Aluasoul and would choose to stay there again. Especially good for our age group. Very chilled, quality and choice of food good. Very clean and comfortable. We have been to Can Pastilla many times because of its proximity to the airport and Palma but have usually stayed at the JS Palma Stay nearby, another adult only hotel. That has the lovely indoor pool that Aluasoul lacks but the JS can sometimes be more crowded and maybe not so "relaxed". It's very close but overall we preferred the Aluasoul. Hope that helps?
Yes absolutely spotless, the council / local community deserve an award like we have in England for best kept village. So sorry we didn't go into the castle though, we'll have to go back next year :)

Ahh thank you again for the lovely feedback. We had to edit out some lovely scenery because I was rambling on far to much. Must think before I talk next time :) We have never been to Sicily. I looked up Taormina and it looks amazing. We follow Lucca and Sahara on RU-vid who have bought a e1 house on the island. It looks like you would have to hire a car to get the most out of your stay but will definitely look into Taormina. Thanks for the tip. We have videos of Verona, Garda and Sirmione to edit for RU-vid, hopefully they will be interesting.
I like the ending, not many people will ever see it though. Audience retention isn't that good :) We resisted the temptation to eat but there was lots of choice. Re food we watch 'Gary Eats' he's really good.

Yes graffiti can be an eyesore but in some cases can work to make a dull wall interesting. Hard to say what works and what doesn't. Banksy seem to get it right though. Thanks again for watching our videos 👍

Hello and sorry for the late reply. The gardens are part of the Grand Hotel Vitoria and the entrance is on Piazza Tasso NOT near the lift. You should have a drink on the hotel terrace if you go there. Its worth the cost.

Hi Tammy. You can buy a ticket for 1 day travel on any SITA bus for 10 euro so can make multiple trips on that ticket. I bought mine from a kiosk at the rail station. Bear in mind the bus's can be very busy at times and you may have to wait for a while to get on a bus. I traveled very early so wasn't a problem but your not guaranteed a place on the bus. We thought the boat was good value. it gives you 2 hours in Positano and 2.5 in Amalfi and a nice relaxing ride. Have a fantastic vacation. Start out early to miss some of the crowds.
Sorrento looks so lovely!!! We are thinking about staying in Vico Equense , which is 2 stops before Sorrento! We were going to go there and do Pompeii and Capri. Sorrento looks like it is not as crowded as Amalfi!!

We only saw a little of Vico Equense on our way back to the airport but it is not far from Sorrento by train, about 12 minutes and only a few euro. I would recommend getting the ferry to Positano and Amalfi, both are lovely but yes very busy. We hope you have a fantastic vacation.

Beautiful but seems too touristy. I think I'd head inland for a B&B. Any news on Campi Flegrei and the earthquakes? This might be a good premise for a TV sitcom, done as a vlog.
Enjoyed the history on this vlog tremendously. My husband and I did a trip to cornwall last summer and learned so much history. We did Wadesbridge, Port Isaac, and tTntagel and before we got to those sites we did Salsbury and Stonehenge. Looking forward to seeing more. We are from Southern California, USA
