8 years later and it worked on a 2005 honda civic i had forgot to tighten after doing a head gasket repair and as soon as i cleaned the ground and tightened it worked like a charm thank you brotha
Just to mention that if it's clicking and you determine it's not the starter or the relay make sure all your crowns from the battery to the motor block are cleaned and make sure the connection for the positive cable is not loose. Having a bad connection for the negative or positive has a lot to do with problems with starting the vehicle
thank you very much for making this video it helped me to solve it here in Brazil in my civic 99 that was just having this problem on the ground thank you
I just did the thermostat on my civic hatch 1992. And I did not tighten that ground wire saw this video n she started like she was coming off the production line …big thanks brother god bless …
Hi i have a 1998 honda civic dx i was driving it turned off on me over heated and didnt want to turn on thought it was the battery but it was something else so i rechecked today and it turns on now it makes a whining noise and clicking noise close where the timing chain is located any idea what could it be?
My 97 civic started having a hard time starting. I would have to hold the key on start position for close to 10 seconds for engine to start. I thought my starter was on its way out. Luckily, I found this video prior to purchasing a new starter. I located ground on my thermostat and bolt was on tight. I unbolted ground connection and it was quite dirty. The metal connection was a very flat finish. I got a small wire brush and cleaned the area on the thermostat where bolt goes, as well as both sides of the ground connection. I even brushed the ground wire where the strands were visible on the connection. I left all metal surfaces very clean and shiny. Went to start the car for the first time in two days, and car started right up in a second or two. I appreciate this video as it saved me a good amount of money and led me to the source of my problem! I encourage anyone who has a problem starting their honda to clean this ground! I didn't think this would work, but I was pleasantly mistaken! Thanks again
OMG...I was getting ready to head to the airport to catch a plane after doing a thermostat and radiator job. Turn the key....click, click, click, and no start with engine turning over. This guy is a savior for sure.
