Got to rev those little hiroshima screamers so that plug don't foul up- try to stay in or near the powerband at all times- fuel mix 32:1 or 40:1 with good quality oil.
Only once. About a month after buying it I blew it up. But it’s been a never ending nightmare of being in and out of the shop. But we still love the white quad 😂😂
Haha yes, we have another 450 and are debating on keeping it or not, we got a banshee project coming in and might trade that for a 250r too. If we do keep the 450 we are either gonna get a empire of dasa, just not totally sure
head ported to the max, +1 valves, +3 stroker crank, 97mm big bore 14:1 piston, HD gears, stage 2 hotcam, running vp110/c12, FCR 44mm bored carb. fuel customs intake, full Dasa with shorty can.
It’s extremely obnoxious, especially for a 400. It definitely had a power difference now that we put it on, I’m pretty sure they are discontinued, but there’s always a chance you can find one out there if you are looking for one. We found it in a bundle with a couple other parts, it was in horrible shape and all rusted up, but we where able to clean it up.
@@maxbrogan9111 the supertrap that is on ours is a shorty, though like I said they are super hard to find, I’m not sure of any others that make shorties. I hope you find one
Nope, it is pure from factory, it might be the mic, it was my second time experimenting with the video style and I was pretty close to the quads, if you check some of the newer ones you can tell a difference in audio.
I let them idle fir a couple minutes before riding. You can double top end life this way, allowing gradual instead of sudden, more violent, metal expansion.
Dg exhaust, could find it on Facebook market place, maybe Amazon I don’t know, possibly somewhere on google would have it, maybe the dg website itself if that exists, I’m not too sure, the exhaust came on the quad when we bought it
Oh jeez where do I start haha, personally I feel so much more comfortable on the 400, almost like I’m on a pillow top bed, I don’t know what it is about it but it does. We have 450 suspension on it which eliminates all bumpiness of rocks and other obstacles. Where the blaster has the stock suspension and I just few every single rock, and it really kills my back by the end of the day, ****though you can get Elka suspension and stuff, we don’t really want to invest the money into a quad I put grew, I don’t feel right on the blaster anymore because of me being 6 ft, I just don’t fit well on it****. The overall power difference is crazy, it pulls me so much more, but comfortably. The blaster I would normally be riding 3rd the whole time, on the 400 2nd is like the golden gear. The low end torque is amazing. Compared to the blaster the power is…. Well listen, it gets up and goes I can’t lie about that, and it will throw wheelies in 1-3 with an adult on it. But I don’t think it really compares to it. Plus a four stroke to a two stroke you know, like when I get into an open field I do miss my power and haha. But overall I will not go back to the blaster after riding the 400, for a person looking for a great quad that has the perfect amount of power, and can sit anyone that’s really tall, I would say the 400 is the ultimate trail quad!!!
Cool just wanted to know what you thought. I have a 400ex with 450 shocks too. I’m gonna have to get a 2 stroke dirt bike also to scratch my 2 stroke itch lol.Keep the vids coming.
Hi Awesome you got a 400 brand new. The super Trapp is loud haha. The blaster guy has the sweet 91 blaster with fmf pipe and some other goodies. We also have a 97 black and yellow blaster I just picked up and will be forsale soon. I'm 42 and still love jumping on the blasters and ripping. Yes that 2 stroke sound and smell is awesome. We run kastor/ benoil love the smell
I had an 89 back in 93 when I bought it. I had a red seat, white fenders and blue and a red gas tank cover. I sadly sold it in 2012. I bought an 01 last summer almost mint and I fixed it up and it's awesome. Blue plastics silver frame. Gotta love blasters! I will never sell this one. It was very hard to find.
I had a 1999 400 ex I got it in the states before it was even released.. I forget how I found out ( internet was barely around) but I got it from a dealer out of Windsor Canada 🇨🇦 I remember hearing about super trapp exhaust.. white bros was big too. I also had a yellow and black 1997 blaster that I bought brand new. I put a DG pipe and silencer on that , with a twist throttle. DG was big back then. I loved both quads.. but think I enjoyed the blaster more! It was so fun riding it threw the woods!! I’m 41 now 😮🤦🏻♂️😆🤷🏻♂️ It feels like yesterday.. I’ve been getting the itch and may pick up a old blaster 😆 I need to hear and smell that 2 stroke! Ping ping 🔥🤙🏻 Blasters fall under the radar.. when rode right ( like it’s stolen 🤦🏻♂️) they line right up with the stock 400s. I’m just getting back into quads.. do you know if the 6 speed blaster, is much different than the 5 speed? I have a feeling Yamaha just tossed in another gear, for a little different range. Keep riding!! Be safe.. and have fun ✌🏼
Hi, I’m so sorry I’m only getting back to you now, I’ve been dealing with to many things lately, gastritis, concussion, even a possible Covid case, so I haven’t really been doing much, but to be honest, I haven’t hit six gear, it does kinda feel like Yamaha just threw on a another just to make it sound cooler. I mean where we ride, I think 4th is the highest I could go on the blaster, I love my 91, it runs amazing, and I could never ask for anything better, but I’m 6 Ft and 14, and soon enough here my knees will be touching the plastics lol, and I can’t fit my body in the pocket between the front and the rear plastics to power slide, which is kinda upsetting, so depends how big you are. But I must say, riding big red, the other 400ex we will be rebuilding at some point in the near future, I begin to say it is probably the best TRAIL quad I have ever riden. Hope that helps!!!
