Hey guys, welcome to my channel!!🤍 My name is Emelie, I’m 17 years old and I have spent 11 months in the United States for my exchange year!🇺🇸 My videos are about anything exchange year related and even more!! Daily vlogs, everyday life and a looot of talking :) Thanks for visiting my channel - I’m happy to see you here✨
Trust me - 100 out of 100 Americans would have assumed that you were American - this is accentless American English. I suspect that Emelie's English could only have improved in vocabulary, in expressions and perhaps in advanced grammar. Which would be true for Americans as well. Reminds me of my 16 year old Swedish cousin, whose English speech was near perfect.
Heyy! Bit late reaction but wdym with knowing your host sister ? Bc me and my best friend would like to go to America for a year but we would prefer to be together in a family. Do you know if that’s possible? 🙂
Hey, I’ve known my host family my whole life, we’ve met them when i was younger, during vacation :) unfortunately you can’t really get into a host family with a friend usually because agency’s don’t allow the exchange students to live with someone who speaks the same language… It’s really really rare😊
Hi, i saw this video in 2024 and next year im going to America and I was just wondering do you bring a laptop to school and incase to do is A Chromebook correct and can you link the bag, because i'm searching for One and I really like this One
hey i am going to most likely be an exchange student next year so im not informed of this yet but i think it is up to your school you go to! you should probably email them because like any other countries some schools provide laptops, some expect you to bring your own and some only allow certain types 😊❤
I love your energy, you seem like such a fun person. I really enjoyed watching this video, it was an easy watch. I've been trying to convince my dad to let me study abroad in Germany for a summer, so I've been binge watching study abroad videos these past few days. Thank you for sharing this ^-^
Y'all don't over pack bcs while your their trust me your gonna be buying a lot of stuff especially clothes and i'm pretty sure you don't wanna pay bcs then they gotta ship everything to your house be careful when packing
Yeah I was also looking at this and surprised at the amount of crop tops or some clothing items because I know if I can go next year (hope I get in) I will try to bring as few clothing items as I can because I don't have many favourites and will buy more there anyways
hey, i do not know which country you are from or what company she used but I's recommend looking into AFS, they are an organisation that is spread all around the world and has been up for 100 years, I'm going with them for an exchange year in the US August 2022 ^^
I am interested in learning the Foreign Language Swedish but live in a state next to Colorado where Swedish speakers are impossible to find to practice with, so I hope to find a Swedish exchange student in a state nearby that maybe I could meet with around Christmas Vacation in Colorado to practice Swedish with. Also Denver has at least 3 Swedish Clubs with a few Swedish Club activity (about 200 Swedish people combined in the 3 Swedish Clubs total).
How exciting for you! I hope you're enjoying your stay in the US. My wife and I will be hosting a student next August, so really neat to see this kind of video. Pro tip: the European two prong plug won't work here in the US. I'd bet money your host family has some extra chargers and USB mini and C cords. 🤔😎
As far as youtube metrics go, your view potential goes up if you speak English. It really depends on who is your intended audience. Anyways, I highly recommend getting your driver's license if you're 16 or older. We're a car country and you'll feel restricted. As for your English, your tone and the words you use sound almost completely natural, but you have a slight draw on vowels. I bet it would disappear on its own in an all English environment.
Loved the vid! I had few doubts regarding exchange programs and it would be highly appreciated if you could help me with it. Firstly, I'm planning on going on an exchange to usa in te senior year of high school (year 12). It's because I'm gonna do university in usa. I'm a bit confused because here where I live, students "choose subjects" in 10th grade. They follow these subjects in 11th and 12th. It's like a concentration in college. But I've heard it's not the same in USA, you're gonna need to focus on every subjects. So, like how am i gonna do a transition to grade 12 of American high school after attending 3 years of high school in a different nation? Also, do exchange students get diploma from American high school if they do year 12 from there?
I did an exchange year in 2019/2020 and I miss it so much.
Thank you! I’ve been to the US before but only for vacation with my family… I’ve been learning English for 10 years at school now but I also taught myself at home and watched English tv shows or read English books :)
