Another track from Saturday Club done with The Echoes and a lovely trombone solo from Derek Wadsworth, sadly missed! This was not included on the Dusty Springfield Transmission 1962 - 1968 CD's for some reason. However the other three tracks are there BBC radio 5th July 1965. I have a better copy of this song somewhere!
I find so charming that so many Tom's songs are true serenades to women. It can be said, from this perspective, that Tom was a troubadour of his time. Many thanks, Darren, for this lovely video! ❤🤗🌈🌷
If the Dusty interview is unscripted and off the cuff then Barry Humphries replies are just plain genius and hysterical - and if it was rehearsed at all, then he is a genius actor still , because it looks spontaneous.
The Four Freshmen were my Dad's favorite. I heard them endlessly growing up. Dad's been gone a few years now. Seeing this clip makes me happy and sad at the same time
Love is dead, at least if you're a woman- men want other men and their computers, robotic dolls and AI phantoms... but at least we have the music to remember it by.
Eu sou a mesma menina? Por que você não parar E olha me over? Eu sou a mesma menina Você costumava conhecer? Sim, eu sou, sim eu sou Eu sou a mesma menina? Sim, eu sou, sim eu sou Por que você não parar E olha me over? Eu sou a mesma menina Você costumava conhecer? Sim, eu sou, sim eu sou Eu sou a mesma menina? Sim, eu sou, sim eu sou Oh, sim, eu sou Eu sou a mesma menina? (Sim, eu sou, sim eu sou) Eu sou a mesma menina? Sim (Sim, eu sou, sim eu sou) Oh, sim, eu sou Eu sou a mesma menina? (Sim, eu sou, sim eu sou) Oh, baby, sim, eu sou. Am I The Same Girl? Why don't you stop And look me over? Am I the same girl You used to know? Why don't you stop And think it over? Am I the same girl Whom you hurt so? I'm the one you want And I'm the one you need I'm the one you love The one you used to meet Around the corner everyday We would meet and slip away But we were much too young To love each other this way Am I the same girl? Yes I am, yes I am Am I the same girl? Yes I am, yes I am Why don't you stop And look me over? Am I the same girl You used to know? Why don't you stop And think it over? Am I the same girl Whom you hurt so? I'm the one you hurt And I'm the one you need I'm the one who cried The one you used to need But you are pretending you don't care But the fire, ahh, is still there But we are no longer too young To love each other this way Am I the same girl? Yes I am, yes I am Am I the same girl? Yes I am, yes I am Oh, yes I am Am I the same girl? (Yes I am, yes I am) Am I the same girl?, yeah (Yes I am, yes I am) Oh, yes I am Am I the same girl? (Yes I am, yes I am) Oh, baby, yes I am
This is brilliant, Darren. Thank you SO much also exposes a really great track from Dusty. But unfortunately consolidates my dislike of Kirsty Young (supercilious style). Neil Tennant's directness and authenticity puts her quietly back in her place. AND after that he opted to KEEP Dusty. Brilliant, Darren , thank you so much again. n
G'day Darren, Thanks for introducing (to me) another gem from Dusty; although to me it just misses the mark to be a hit;Is it on any of her albums ?What I really enjoy about this particular recording is its clarity, her sultry, sexy voice is so "present" as are those of both the backup singers and band.Great to see that you're still unearthing Dusty treasures ;She sure recorded an amazing amount of music. Best of luck with your new government;hopefully it will be much more effective than ours!Cheers from Oz!
