I purchased some navy blue pinstripe Brooks Brothers trousers over 15 years ago, and since then, I have acquired Brooks Brothers suits, shirts, and ties. I enjoy wearing Brooks Brothers clothing. It has a timeless elegance and an air of gentlemanly sophistication.
I truly enjoyed the program I'm looking forward to maybe one day of being able to afford one of those cars it would be nice thank you have a pleasant evening
Being less than old money, I was reluctant to buy a Ralph t-shirt for $65.00, that's sixty five dollars American. I could purchase a small chair for that price. It's only cotton with an emblem. Years later, I still had the same t-shirt it was still comfortable, it did not deteriorate or become loose nor baggy, or stringy over the years. It was only then that I realized true quality, thought, passion, had it's rewards. And I felt rather clever for indulging. Best wishes. Post Script: and what do I have today ? Just a bunch of Smiths.
Back in the 80's my father worked on Madison ave..He always wore brooks brothers and bowties. He said time for me to get a real suit and sent me to the Manhattan Brooks Brother Store. I rode up in the oak elevators as the door opened there was a man there named Charles wearing a suit. He asked me my name and said your father told me to expect you. He then shopped with me for a suit. There was coffee and pastries there on silver plates....Sadly the young people of today will never experience that.
My first purchase from Brooks Brothers was a blue blazer that lasted me for years. Someone once asked me if I owned anything other than a BB button down shirt. Nope, wouldn’t consider buying any other shirt. Unfortunately, in recent years, the brand has suffered from a plunge in quality. A year ago, I ordered three BB sport shirts. They are so ill-fitting that I’m donating them to Goodwill. Sad.
RL used to be my favorite brand, for decades, in fact. But, recently they have been replacing the good natural-fiber fabrics they always used with cheap synthetics, so I don’t find much there anymore.
The Row is by far the most hyped brand out there. Totally not worth it. The designs are masculine and at best mediocre and boring, quality ok but nothing extraordinary and the prices? Ridiculous! It is the elephant in the room that everybody notices but noone wants to talk about. If this brand was an island it would be Mykonos, overly hyped, but totally not worth it; low price/value ratio. Look for another island people - there is many out there. ;)
