It looks like they attributed this TD ( 0:49 ) to Brian Griese. It was actually Scott Dreisbach, in what was his first game as the starting QB. The opponent was Virginia in the old Pig Skin Classic game, and that TD reception was the final play of the game. Mercury Hayes caught that pass as time ran out and Michigan completed what was, at that time, the biggest comeback in Michigan history (it has since been dethroned). With only 11 minutes, or so, left in the 4th quarter, VA was winning 17-0. That game winning TD gave M an 18-17 victory. I had the privilege of being at that game with some friends. It was the greatest Michigan game I had ever been to until 2005 against Penn State. My dad and I had some great seats at the 50 yard line (my cousin gave us those tickets as a gift...that was a great gift).

I NEVER get tired of watching these old school “smash mouth” B1G games. I also thought it was pretty cool listening to the entire broadcast without the any cuts. Hearing the old commercials, commentary and and band was taking me back a bit. GO BLUE
Was it common knowledge then that Randy and Liz were divorced? I was surprised that Randy was so candid about that, seems kinda a rare thing for this era to break kayfabe like that.
was that the University of Michigan marching band playing the show's theme song? If so I have to ask, how in the world was the university's band director or whoever was responsible for getting the sheet music for it, actually able to get even ONE copy of it, let alone over two hundred? Since the Internet wasn't around then I assume it must've been a VERY time consuming job for the band director to have to do so.)
@@mattburkey8393 oy, NOT what I meant. what I meant was that even though there is absolutely no denying that the show was popular THEN and probably is even more popular now, (considering the fact that Ryan Seacrest is the male host now, even though he is not quite as funny as Regis.) the show will never be remembered for any of its theme songs alone, that i guarantee, (except by maybe diehard fans who watched it from day one and maybe the band members who appeared during this week.)
