You know, in 40 yrs of playing and modding guitars, I've never heard anyone mention that neck shim trick -that is an incredibly out-there, original idea! You certainly walk the talk, so I'm excited to try it on my Tele, then my Strats. Thanks for pointing me twd my next project, and all the best to you :) subbed
I went from this to your recent Holdsworth rendidtion... great chops! I'm a sucker for almost any Holdsworth who was just listening to Panic Station and some of Sand this afternoon.
Nothing quite like it.... Those particular recordings you mentioned, they're kind of like "extremely progressive yacht Rock" or something... But it does give off a different kind of feeling....
Originally I just did it because I was swapping out pick guards and things... I had taken the one that was in there out and put it into the other one... Then at some point I switched back and was playing around with it the way it is now and kind of found that it worked quite well. I think I'd still like the regular style pickups for solo unaccompanied guitar, but it's pretty close... The traditional size pickup is very flutey... Which I also like a lot. At some point here when I get another guitar that the traditional pickup arrangement I'll probably stick to that...
So happy you like Monty P:) but sure, it was a good idea to warn us it is a nylon string emulation - otherwise I may not have associated with it, sorry:) it s still a steel string guitar.
Yes. .... I've done a couple of my own type of rap tunes I guess, "Utopia Corp training video" which has this rap thing I do at the end and then a crazy guitar solo, and then of course the "ye are not evolved" song, which is like very bizarre... Victorian progressive rap rock or something
This made my morning. I'm in the pit band for Monty Python's Spamalot these days, playing (among other things) this song every night. What a coincidence... Your nylon simulation sounds better than a lot of actual classical guitars with pickups I've heard.
Yeah, I wanted something like this and then found it... That's the great thing about all this latent technology lying about, you never know what you're going to find that somebody's already invented it
I've been pretty much on that non-stop for years now, but you know I play all kinds of stuff, I'm not really a shredder per se.... It's just funny, it's a joke because guitar players be like, compartmentalizing each other into these genres or something... I just do whatever I want, sometimes it's really insane fast stuff or complicated things, other times it's just different forms of music or whatever ...ambient
It's not MIDI. The hexaphonic pickup works like six little tiny humbuckers, and then it morphs the electric signal into some type of acoustic type frequency spectrum signal, for example, if you scratched the strings you get the sound of the strings being scratched only it's sounding a bit more like an acoustic... It's apparently Roland V guitar technology.... I was pretty amazed myself too, I was originally thinking of getting a piezo system installed
Salutations Tory! Nice exhibition! I had my GK-2 Roland pickup re-wired so that I could orient the pickup upside down so the wires would come out of the bottom side of the bridge, thus keeping the wires out of harm’s way. This makes it much easier and more natural to play the guitar without damaging the unit and without inadvertently producing unwanted interference noise. I am not sure if you have a competent technician where you are that can do this for you, but if you do, it may be worth it to you to have this modification done. This is just a recommendation from one musician to another, that you may find useful. Fender also made a Roland ready Stratocaster, which I also own, that also has the wires protected, another option is the Godin Multiac which also has a hexaphonic pickup built in and has a port which accepts the VG-8 14 wire cable. Also, there is a version of the Parker Fly which also works with the Roland system and has a port to accept the cable. Thanks for sharing! Please have an excellent and awesome day! ☀️✨🌟🎸
You don't even have to reorient the pickup with this unit, you just change one universal system setting and it reverses it automatically. For every single patch.
@@TorySlusher Thank you very much for that useful information, I have a much older model that does not enable that option, and when I had to replace the sensor unit, I then had it re-wired to prevent further damage, as it got in the way when I palm mute the strings. I can now play more freely with that guitar, my Roland ready Stratocaster and my Godin don’t have that issue. Thanks again for sharing! Please have an excellent and awesome day! ☀️✨🌟🎸
