Greetings, I'm Shane. I'm the guitarist for a couple of local bands, Ivory Primarch and my own project, Phuq U. My intention here, is to capture as many (mainly) Melbourne (mainly) Sludge/Stoner/Doom bands as I can get my ass too. 1, For my own enjoyment 2, To show the world what I already know: Melbourne is one of the best meccas in the world for what I collectively refer to as, "Mud Metal".
You are more than welcome 🙂 I just consider myself very lucky. I just film everything I go to, out of habit. I had NO idea I was going to end up with caturing the most incredible show I've ever seen.
I noticed Boris have just released an official version from their Primavera set. It's nice to have the close up shots, but apart from that, to be totally honest, I think I prefer your video because it actually captures the energy of being there much better. Feels much more personal.
@@rawlg It's been released through their RU-vid membership page. I'm not sure if it's been posted anywhere else yet though. If I can find it, I'll send a link 🙂
Really glad to see this uploaded, wanted to revisit this one in particular after seeing them in Brisbane. Funnily enough, before the song started Boris and the audience had to keep calling Kiyoharu to come to the stage for about five minutes. Nobody seemed to know what was going on, then their translator/manager comes over and tells us that Kiyoharu had been stung by a bee hahaha.
Ahhh! Now it all makes sense! I saw the Brisbane performance and having seen them the night after in Melbourne, I knew something was immediately off. I couldn't understand why Boris seemed uncharacteristically "off" that night. They didn't even have their proper amp setups in Brisbane. Takeshi ALWAYS plays through Sunn amps, but instead, he was playing Mesa Boogie amps, so their sound was not "Borisie". I felt blessed, in that they gave us (Melbourne) one of the best gig I've been to in the past 30 years. The main reason I went was to buy one of Watas guitar pedals. The gig started 1 hour late, so an hour worth of people all Hit the merch stand at once. It took me 45 in que to get to the desk. I ended up getting the last pedal they had, so that's why I missed the opening act and the 1st half of Kiyoharu 's set. All said and done, one of the best gig 👌 ever :-)
It was one of the most magical and memorable experiences I've had in the past 30 years of seeing live bands. I feel blessed to be able to share that magic with others.
Absolutely, me too. I didn't even know Boris very well before I went. I was mainly going to buy one of their guitar pedals, but while I was there, I discovered what I think is the best band in the world.
He is absolutely amazing. I felt so fortunate to be there filming it, because I knew a lot of people would really enjoy it. Even Atsuo from Boris said he thought he was one of the best singers in the world. I'd be inclinded to agree!
@@ArdadLili Exactly. That's the thing, If it wasn't for Boris bringing him on tour with them, I would have been in the same position as you. I feel quite blessed 🙂
@@ArdadLili I count myself very lucky for it all. Before i went I'd never heard of Kiyoharu and I didn't even know Boris apart from a couple of songs. I was mainly going because Boris were selling their autographed guitar pedals. By the end of the night, both of them absolutely changed my world for ever. Every gig I go to I film, normally just local bands but this one was the best of all. Most of all I'm happy I have the abilty to share with the entire world what will probably be one of the most memorable times of my life 🙂
