i got luck, kinda. got the tele and only one minor issue. Earth bleed. otherwise i actually love the way it sounds and plays, but for one thing. 11.3 pounds. this is a SITTING DOWN player. btw, Fender *sell* one other mahogany tele. i say sell, because Cort Indonesia make them with Fender on the headstock under contract with fender. it's called "FENDER SPECIAL EDITION CUSTOM TELECASTER FMT HH". under a grand US i think (approx 1700AU). i think you might like THAT guitar. it's a real gem. sounds like a *nice* SG. i'm NOT kidding, you'd know the second you played one.
@16:45 well they sure did! haha I'm super glad they did too. I ordered one and I'm going crazy waiting for it to arrive. This video was super cool. I love Chase Bliss, and the fact that you covered that pedal as well as the 2 OBNE pedals is so cool. PLUS the MICROCOSM made an appearance?!! I have that on my list to get. I got the Chroma Console recently and I love it. Cheers to you both thank you for the great video ✌🤍
That sounds so sick with the Jazzmaster and both channels stacked. A lot of care was clearly put into making sure all this pedal's discrete parts worked well together, which is tough to do with filtering plus stacked distortion. I think my dream pedal right now would be something like a 1981 DRV mashed up with a yellow-box Ibanez flanger, with a similar routing switch.
Squiers as basic mod platforms are straight up addicting lol.. I have 1 bullet Limited edition telecaster, 1 affinity limited edition telecaster, 1 affinity telecaster deluxe, 1 paranormal offset telecaster, 1 paranormal tornado, 1 paranormal custom Nashville Stratocaster, a classic vibe 60's limited edition telecaster SH, 1 40 th anniversary telecaster.. all go through pup and bridge or brass/stainless steel saddles, I do a fret level, crown and polish, truss rod adjustment saddle height adjustment, intonation , sometimes replacement of pots and switches, electro socket, output jack and or jack plate. And sometimes Pearl pick guards and knobs. Total amount spent on each guitar including price of the squier itself ranges from about 270 to 500.. so what is accomplished in the end is a guitar that is right at custom shop level, which would normally cost from about 1200 to upwards of say 2500 bucks.. and it's a no brainer with a little bit of time and elbow grease. All in all I have less than 4000.00 in guitars and parts. Of which is a lot less than purchasing 8 custom shop or mim/ American/Japan telecaster jagmaster or strats which would run probably in comparison say $9000.00, of course the American, mim or mij would have more resale value etc, but I don't plan on selling any of them so no issue there.. I can Walk into guitar center and not find a better playing or sounding equivalent costing 800 and upwards of 1300.00 tele than my squier bullet telecaster that I only have about 270.00 bucks and some time and fretwork setup elbow grease into.. maybe some more expensive teles have fancier grained flame maple tops etc, but my little hot rodded squier bullet telecaster slays them tonality and playability wise lol.. a basic platform with mods and setup is truly the way to go. You customize it exactly how you want it, and meticulously set it up, do the fretwork perfectly and it will scream, sustain, and be phenomenal for lack of better words lol..
Have the offset squier paranormal telecaster SH made in China and love it.. I did change out the bridge for a heavy solid brass one and put a fleor tele rails pup strictly due to preference for heavier distortion lead tones.
Way late to this video, but I just noticed I missed a few that didn't show up in my feed. Ticked the bell so that won't happen anymore. Anyway, great video. Enjoyed this. I haven't played either of these, but they did sound good. Thanks for the vid.
Loved the demo! Would like to see Old Blood Noise Endeavors combine the harmonic portion of the Blackcap with the reverb used in the Dark Star! Even better would be a switch that allowed the tremolo before/after the reverb like what they did with the Rever and Minim!
They should combine Screen Violence and Excess v2's - particularly the time based and modulation side of Excess, coupled with the Violence side of Screen Violence.
I would love to see Old Blood add a dedicated on/off switch for the delay side of the Beam Splitter so you can get the cool deviate effect on your clean tone. Maybe add a Lasso-style effects loop to it so I can put a reverb after the gain but before the *trereo* split? Regardless, OBNE totally rule and they're making some of the most interesting stuff out there.
I work in a guitar shop and a fella came in for a player tele he tried it then I handed him the player 2 and he didn't even plug it up and immediately he said he was taking the player 2 the build quality is simply so much better,
Here in Australia, the Japanese version cost me the equivalent of $840 USD brand new. Very happy with the price to value ratio. The Squire comes in at around $530 USD here. I should add that I've spent about $300 USD modding it... Firebird neck pickup, Seymour Duncan antiquity bridge, a custom made pickguard to fit the Firebird neck pickup, and a new control harness. It's a great modding platform. Now I have the exact guitar I wanted
This is really a great review. I love how you show three people who play really differently on both guitars. We can really get a sense of the sounds in many situations. That finger picked piece the 3rd play does is is really nice BTW.
Just found your channel and I subscribed. Well done video straight to the point and entertaining as well. By the way Tia - using 9's does not make you a baby. BB King also preferred 9's and he used a Gibson with a 24 3/4" scale as opposed to jour Jazzmaster with a 25 1/2" scale - so they're good enough for BB.....
Personally don’t have a favorite Jazzmaster I’m more into a parts build. But. That birch green may be the one. Personally I use only the bridge pickup on a Jazzmaster and use the volume to taste. Treble bleed is a must if I do so. Maybe something different in the bridge depending on how I feel in the mix.
I got the pro 2 jazzmaster in surf mist green dam I love that guitar and the jm jm which was my introduction to jazzmasters and now I’m totally converted
Great review I really love both those colours gotta love a jazzmaster. I really don’t use the rhythm cct but to me it’s part of the kookiness of a jazzmaster. But they look great value
I’ve owned one of these and they are great amps, they are super heavy but that’s the on negative. They sound amazing and can do everything. The single channel head and combo are a different thing to the dual ones in my opinion. I had one of the dual channels and it was nice but not this good. The AD15 is also a great combo
I was going to buy a jazzmaster but then I donate that money to BLM just to find out that Patrisse the big boss bought a 6$ million mansion in a rich white neighborhood. I was surprised she was so vocal about white people how big of a menace they are just to go and live in the middle of them🤷 In the end no jazzmaster for me 😢
Doing some reasearch cause I've been wanting one of these for a while. Sadly, I can't physically go into a store and play one because no store within almost a thousand miles has one. After reading a good bit of the comments, if you can, go in and play one! Develope your own final opinion on whether you want one. Don't rely on youtubers
