II gave blue sisters & Babel 6 stars ⭐️ - I didn’t cry in Babel but in blue sisters I did 😭. P.s. I have two older brothers, and I love my sister in law so much. I text/call her more than my brother at this point for family drama lol 😂 it is like what I imagined having a sister to be ♥️maybe you’ll get that too
Love getting this reccomended. I just started reading it and while it is slow the world and scene building really encaptures the vibes the book is going for and still keeps the attention of my adhd brain.
I loved The Secret History! I read it when I was working at a Greek school in the fall time so I think that contributed to my enjoyment. I also loved If We Were Villains, but I prefer Donna Tart’s writing style.
ONG, I love loved The Stationery Shop. I was sobbing at the end in the middle of the night. Sooo soo good. I am so happy it is on your recommendation list.
My favorite of all time except for Kindful books, is Kristen Hanna’s the Nightingale because I love historical fiction set in past wars. It was by far one of the best novels I’ve ever ever read.
Phenomenal selection. I've read some and plan to read others--loved All the Light, Nightingale, and Hamnet; gotta read those last two you discussed. Thanks!
HaHa... The first four Elin Hilderbrand you mentioned are the 4 I've read... They all got 4 or 4.5. I'd say start with Hotel Nantucket Firefly Lane was SO EMOTIONAL... Loved this book 😭 Skip the TV show, it's TRASH 👎🏽 People We Meet On Vacation is my LEAST favorite Emily Henry book... but friends to lovers ain't a favorite trope of mine
I’m hoping to read Just For The Summer soon, can’t wait!! I love Emily Henry and TJR 😍 Also love that your cat’s name is Juniper, that’s my daughter’s name, haha!
Yeah I think this is all very dependent on your tastes honestly. As someone just getting back into reading, none of these things appeal to me in the least. But thats probably because I really dislike reading romance and anything beyond very mild/subtle mentions of it in a book. If youre someone that enjoys romances then this sounds like a good way to go. I'm very into sci fi and The Three Body Problem Triology is what I read to get back into, and back into reading it brought me.
Found your channel from my homepage and SO glad I did! I love a good book haul and you got so many! I REALLY want to read Jade City. Can't wait to continue following along on your reading journey!
Heather Morris actually has 2 other books about world war 2 the three sisters and sisters under the rising sun,Also the tattooist is being turned into a show, not sure who’s streaming it though
If you want to try out more sci-fi with a bit of Fantasy definitely give the red rising series a try 😊 it has an amazing story line with the best characters I’ve ever come across in a book
Only occasionally does a historical fiction novel transcend genre and receive the accolades reserved for great literary fiction. One that has done that, and probably my favorite HF novel is "The Year of the French" by Thomas Flanagan. It was a finalist for the National Book Award and won the NBCC (National Book Critics Circle) literary fiction award. If you're fond of beautiful, descriptive writing along with memorable characters and fine pacing this is an HF book for you.
I can't remember ever reading a romance novel. However, I do read Westerns and most of them do have a little bit of romance. Especially Louis L'amour. No big story line but it is there. Lonesome Dove is probably the closest I've come to reading a romance novel. Yes, it's a Western but it has a Big romantic theme in there. Thank you -James
I'm assuming you know that Just For the Summer is book #3 in the Part Of Your World interconnected series? There is a pretty important connection to the characters in the previous books... As a romance reader, Abby Jimenez is FANTASTIC... Part Of Your World(5.0) is my FAVORITE... Yours Truly was Fake Dating which really annoys me, but her writing is so good I still gave it 4 stars... I've also loved her other interconnected series(however, the first book, The Friend Zone(3.75) is the only Abby J. book I rated under 4 stars) I loved Happy Place... Book Lovers is still my favorite Emily Henry OK... Sorry, I typed this comment before watching the rest of your video 🤷🏻♂
Apparently there isn’t a clear definition of what counts as historical fiction but a decent rule of thumb is the events should have occurred at least 50 years ago. ☺️ So weirdly, The 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo does fall under the historical fiction genre!
I’m so happy to see someone else loved Tom Lake. It will be a re-read for me at some point. I’ve heard the audiobook is stellar so I will have to listen to it.
Totally agree on Assassin’s Blade!!! I was not attached at all reading it 3rd and sooo wish I had read it first and I feel MISLED 😩 BUT still obsessed af
I loved the audiobook for Tom Lake! Sounds like a great first quarter for you 😊 So hard to pick a top favorite for me but I think I have to go with Six of Crows/Crooked Kingdom!!
Tom Lake is one of my favorite books of all time! I’ll have to add Six of Crows to my tbr. I’ve heard so many great things but haven’t gotten around to it
