Seem high humidity is bad on the max fuel system I need to pull my tank it’s not bad looking as that but I am also having carb problems with 2 fuel filters 1 extra after pump, what do I need to clean tank out I see some rust and black flakes
@RaymondWest-ck9li I use muriatic acid to clean mine and then you neutralize it with baking soda and water. If they don't look bad after that they are usually OK but these tanks really need to be kept full when stored so it does not leave room for condensation build up. Also the sensor needs to be taken out before cleaning and a block off plate made to go over the hole.
@pissedoffveteran7965 I am still working on organizing the back after my last auction purchase. I work completely by myself so not the fastest in the world with getting things cleaned up. I only work about 5 hours a day to do to my back being broken in 3 spots and having shoulder issues to .
@@crazyasscaptain I'm 64 myself and a disabled veteran so not the fastest either till I get on the Vmax, telephone poles look like a picket fence....lol.
@danwickey1111 Thank you ! I do not do that job super often and when I do one my video will probably be somewhat botched when I do unless I learn how to edit before then. I was not really happy with this video.

@pissedoffveteran7965 it would probably work but you would have to do a good bit of sanding to get them smooth. I think I would try some paint remover first.
Don’t see any foot pegs? Up here in NW Indiana. For 10 months to dissemble and put back together a valve lashing issue. A fun learning process regarding DOHC. I’ve hard the hard work smartly and replaced all seals and gaskets. What a great bike! Would you entertain a couple of questions? 1.) when reinstalling the chain tensioners I had to use the cam shaft bearing bolts to draw in the tensioners, then replaced with original bolts. Should it have been so difficult to reinstall the tensioners? 2) When I disassembled it I shorted out an auxiliary wire I added for battery charging. Now my startup is null, no indicator lights no fuel pump, etc. the battery is good, the 30 amp main fuse is good. No voltage going to key switch, no voltage going to main fuse. My rectifier passed the neg and positive bias test. So I jumperd power to main fuse and got indicator lights and the rest of the stuff to power up ; but not enough to turn over. Suggestions? Fuse link wire consealed? A relay bad? Thought to ask first. Much appreciated!

@@crazyasscaptain Sad. Like the crazy cat ladies that think they're doing strays a favor by putting food on the streets when in reality they're condemning them to a miserable existence. Not to mention the rats that gorge off of it.
Excellent ....So where is the best place to get new spark plug wires? When I watched this I am now pretty sure why my 88 runs a little rough after washer her. Great video!

I purchased this exact exhaust because of this. My neighborhood knows exactly what time I go to work 😅. Quick edit. 1999. 18k on the rollers. Solid motor mounts progressive shocks front and back.
