Welcome to the official IOF Orienteering RU-vid channel!
The International Orienteering Federation (IOF) is the international governing body for orienteering sports. The IOF governs four orienteering disciplines: Orienteering, MTB orienteering, Ski orienteering, and Trail orienteering.
Orienteering is an endurance sport which involves a huge mental element. To be successful in orienteering, the athlete needs excellent map reading skills, absolute concentration and the ability to make quick decisions on the best route at high speed.
Thanks for sharing. The explanations on the begining and the guy running and talking about the terrain ( 8:31 ) makes me felll into the map. Keep going.
This was held in my local area and i just have to say how polite, kind amd helpful the volunteers and participants where to the locals. Credit to the organisation.
Hello. I’m a huge fan of orienteering, and always trying to improve myself. I also like watching headcam videos from single competitors at small events and these large ones. I do have to say though that trying to watch.his video in the first ten minutes was painful. Does your runner not own a gimbal, or use even a decent GoPro with stabilization? I had to turn it off it’s so bad. Also since this is international, and I would say a fair portion of English speaking people watch this, why there are no subtitles during the commentary. Can you add a map on the left edge with the tracks of the top sets of racers? I see that during some of your videos, but only for a minute or two, and not consistently. Thanks.
Tove Alexandersson told tv journalists she was "not there" in the head during the EOC, had a very hard time focusing. Also she had Covid (like many others) a time before, she didn't say anything about it there though or didn't blame anything on that, just a thought from me and others. You never know, maybe it made some impact, maybe not.
People differ in coping with some lack of oxygen. Also easier for those used to high heights, even if that also differ o c. Johansson also had a bit up to leading teams from start, although the here fantastic Hadorn "the climber" where even further behind from start. Really impressing leg by Hadorn, with mistakes too. Super good! Also wonder what your first thoughts are when you've been really fighting good in such tough high height climbing up and down terrain and get pulled off because your comrade the leg before mispunched one forked control. You take it well I hope and next time it could be you. Guess the mispuncher is feeling a little miserable though. Must be easy to miss when too tired. Are the swedes the worst mispunchers in relays though? Happens now and then it seems.
The most exciting and interesting sports activities are: Orienteering competitions in summer and Biathlon & curling competitions in winter. Real TV highlights!
Thanks for the download. Much pleasure. Q: Was control 14 a double for some of the legs? It looked so to me but might be compl wrong. Also: Don't you like Sweden. Seems like you always downplay them, especially when they do well. Always excuses. All terrains are always suitable and well known for them (but no one else?). A s o. Much talk about suitable terrains for the swedes and on actual comp. on their home terrain no talk about all the people fr other countries living and training in Swe. Lots and lots of talk about the home public chanting for their own. Too much talk about that which you don't hear when comp. in other countries. It seems. That is: Downplaying when they do good is the impression and that others really are better, if not a s o...
8:22 why the hell cant those numbers be appropriately fixated on sportsmen's shirts on the top world level championships? arent there anything more convenient than simple metal pins for this?
Not really. Take away the long leg and Hagström and Alexandersson still have the fastest times in their races, and Lundberg only loses by 1 second to Roos. The long leg was a big factor in Sweden's win, but they were pretty even otherwise.
