The CIA, MI5 and KGB DO NOT want you to see any of this. Watch the videos backwards, at a frequency of 96hz, it'll explain everything. Don't talk to anyone, they have sleepers everywhere...

The research you cite and the old ideas of nuclear winter have been know to be bogus for a while. In full blown nuclear exchange at the height of the cold war, nuclear winter would probably last a week or so. Definitely not years. And while deliver systems have advanced, actualy because of that, yields are much smaller now because they dont have to be large because they are more accurate. Would still be awful but it is definitely not the world ending event its made out to be, for humans or the planet. Just the end of life as we know it. Most people would die of starvation, collapsed infrastructure that the weak, sick, elderly, and more or less young have become dependent upon. It would be megadeath but not in an instant

To even your phobia, checkout a British animated comet sketch show called, Modern Toss. There's a particular ~3min title: Space Argument Very funny in how it punctures the seriousness of the environment and simultaneously superimposes normality in the medium.

The Car scene is the scene where Ruth gets pregnant, where Jimmy takes her and they sleep together. Not where she is pregnant. She only tells him she is pregnant later on in the Pub. Also there is no scene between them where Jimmy asks Ruth to marry him, that's mentioned by Jimmy and his parents after the scene in the pub, while they are eating and that's not the main focus of the storyline for them. Sounds like you don't know the film as well as you think you do.Maybe you should have done your homework better before making this video.

I recommend reading Anne Jacobsen's recent book 'Nuclear War: A Scenario' that provides a well-researched account of what would happen after the launch of a single ICBM by the DPRK against the USA. It is appropriately horrific and thought-provoking.

Excellent video, as some one who grew up with these types of games, well put. These points mixed in with the incredible OSTs of horror games, mixed with a limited childhood apprehension of life. Makes for an incredible experience that sticks with you for life. Hits you on a primal level.

this video started strong then went into culture lore. mate you coulda just kept diving into the physics we understand of space and maybe cover the big bang and perhaps the voids between stars and then end with what is on the edge of the universe or entropy. i didn’t need most of this review to be on fiction from movies lol. This film didn't pull any punches. I grew up in the 80s with a clear view of nuclear cooling towers. We had emergency drills that my mom told me were pointless because we'd all be doomed if something went wrong. She wasn't wrong, but also not a morale booster.

Genius.. isn't it To see just how realistic Threads IS .. Google and read - Struggle for survival written by Steve Fox Then ... With the new knowledge you've learned from reading the actual war plans re watch Threads... Then you'll really witness just how exactly realistic THREADS is when you know the plans and then can see thems unfolding And then rapidly failing in the film.. Ohhh its makes you realise just how powerful Threads Truly is

One thing many people either don’t know or don’t mention about the Cuban Missile Crisis is that the US had an overwhelming strategic advantage at the time. If a nuclear war would have broken out the U.S. would have annihilated the USSR. There wasn’t even a plan for limited retaliation, SIOP 62 was developed because Kennedy didn’t have many options for using nuclear weapons. LeMay had a stranglehold on the USAF and his plan was, as simple and horrible as it sounds, to turn the USSR into a parking lot. The nukes of the 60s were actually more powerful than the ones we have today - due to the inaccuracy of the delivery systems. There would have been a huge number of high yield weapons used against the Eastern Bloc. The environmental and ecological impact of this would have been beyond catastrophic. Besides a few unreliable ICBMs the Soviets didn’t have the ability to strike the US mainland: their strategic bombers were shit and the US Air Force had overwhelming superiority in the air, plus the Soviet Navy didn’t have any SSBNs at the time. The Soviets probably would have launched nuclear strikes against NATO but the fallout from these strikes would have blown right back into their own territory and the territory of their allies. The 10-15 million American deaths would have been paid back by the obliteration of Europe and the Soviet Union and deaths there in the hundreds of millions.

It never ceases to amaze me the human ingenuity that goes into Mutually Assured Destruction. This is the kind of stuff I wish I could have covered in this video as it's a really crucial element of the arms race during the Cold War, cheers for pointing it out.
