I just found out what they came with from the foctory, then did some research on what other people were running, then I made an educated guess on what I thought would work well. I cant remember what i went to, pretty sure I moved 2 levels softer.
Great video! How do you like it now? Any issues so far? Im in the market for one and was wondering about your experience with the bike? Any advice would be greatly appreciated
How the hell do u have 70% battery after 24 miles. My X2 ludicrous manages only 24miles from full to 20%-10% left. Also, It hits 80-90 degrees centigrade when I get down to the last 30% of the battery sometimes only 16 miles in I am running 80 Degrees Centigrade. How did you manage to get that long ride out of the battery? What configuration are you running besides PAS2, what is your PAS AMPS and your Wattage for the motor? Would love to hear your settings because my Bike gets hot FAST. In the beginning, it would give me about 30 miles now it's down to 24 miles. Even in Fall temperatures where I need to wear a jacket. It heats up fast, I constantly have to monitor my temps, or pull over and let it cool and just hydrate. The Controller never gets hot but the engine side gets super hot. I am not running that high of settings either only at 1000watts Field weakening 2, PAS AMPS set to 80-90 & if I run throttle for only 6 miles it's running near high 80's to even 92 degrees Centigrade. I have yet to overheat. But it sucks having to monitor the temp all the time on my X2 V2 ludicrous because I can't watch the trail and make sure I am not pushing her. I know how to ride EMTBs and what gears to be in to reduce stress on the motor. But still, I can't get past 27 miles even when I am running stock specs on her. I was going to buy a second battery from LUNA but I have to believe someone out there makes a better & bigger 20amphr battery for the E10 v2. My X2 has about 460miles total on the engine. I am definitely underwhelmed with the 2 ludicrous. Their Gimmick is just that a Gimmick. You run anything beyond 1250 FW2 like 1500 Fw3 or Fw4 and in 3 miles I'm at the top of the Orange zone for heat.
So I have a 52t front sprocket on my Aventon Sinch but I can’t find a sprocket bigger than that for the front. Would you how to increase top end speed?
it was left over from my other mini bike. it was the baja warrior MB200. I converted it to use a TAV2 torque converter, so the jack shaft was just sitting in my parts bin.
@@meglmasonyea thats the hardest part of a build like this. You need to find some sort of a jackshaft. an axel with a bearing housing and a sprocket on it will do the trick. Good luck!
I want to mention a few things I noticed about my Aventon Adventure. All the wight of the bike is in the rear! The front weights almost nothing and the wheels are also very light. I'd say the wheels are 4lbs max. If you know anything about wrestling or MMA you need to use leverage. I find the 70lb Aventon feels very light once you learn to handle it. I learned if you kind of carry it like you're curling a 70lb bar it feels weightless. Hold the lower part of the frame with you left hand and with your right hand you hold the fork curl it up towards your body with the seat pressed into your groin. You can easily carry it this way. This is how I load it in my car and carry it around. Taking the battery out helps a lot too.
@@BrandonNapier I went to the bike store and road 3 electric bikes. I rode some weird name Chinese e-bike, the Aventon and the Specialized. The specialized was $3200 from what I remember. The Chinese e-bike is good for someone who isn’t passionate about biking but just wants something cheap to get around. The Aventon is just overall good quality all around and does the job. It’s not a mountain bike but it could become one with shorter handle bars and a suspension front fork. The specialized was lightweight and powerful but both topped out at 30mph so honestly for what I’m using the bike for the Aventon is perfect for me. I use it to go on late night rides after work and listen to music or podcasts. Pickup s burrito or go to the store really quick lol occasionally I’ll load it into my car and take it out on a bike path or something. But for the price nothing in the market comes close to the looks, quality and customer service. Plus it’s easy to work on.
You will have to take it to an offroad shop to have them refill the shock with high pressure nitrogen. You can buy all the stuff yourself, but it will cost you a few hundred bucks.
Damn...you didn't get the ludicrous after paying all that money?...400 more is small price to pay to have the top notch full power capabilities !! To each their own I guess.
Thanks for the tip. that does help, but now that we have ridden a few other E-Bikes i can confirm that other bike do have the throttle kick in much faster and aggressive. Still a great bike though.
I could not even tell you the max range since we never even come close to running the batteries out. We do difficult mountain rides and will only burn 10% of the battery! There has been several times that I don't even charge the bike between rides. I think i did 35 miles one time using a LOT of pedal assist and I still had well over 50% life left.
Beautiful desert setting, great place to single track. Have a small X2 on order. This bike at 58lb is heavier than most trendy ebikes(Specialize) at 48-50lbs. I have trouble negotiating tight switch-backs on single track riding a heavier bike. Have you had similar issues? Having owned for a while, are you still happy with the bike. Thanks for the video.
I have not ridden the Specialized bikes but I don't have any problems with the Luna X2. I know it seem like a lot of weight but i can still bunny hop it just fine and absolutely love it!
Got one. Bolts and nuts come loose all the time. Almost lost my kick stand twice, almost lost my front tire once. Blue Loctite is your friend here. Least little stick, tree root, raised terrrain and you pedal hits it on the downstroke. Very little peddle clearance when at the bottom of the stroke. Foot hits the front fender when you turn. I would pick something else if I were to do it over again. Prolly be fine for just street riding.
Wow that surprising. i have not had the same problems with bolt coming loose. i did put on shorter cranks because your are correct the clearance is not very good. I agree overall. this is a very good bike for bike paths and maybe some small trails. but for real off road bike trails its not too great. Check out my other videos. We both moved to the Luna X2! now that's a great bike!
@@BrandonNapier dang i was about to ask if i could buy it lol. what did you end up selling it for. im trying to research what i should expect to pay for a similar build.
That first time hitting 32 mph was a blast for me too. Now I ride mine daily to work and never had so much fun going to the salt mines so to speak. LOL. the most fun Ive ever had on 2 wheels that didnt make me sweat. LOL!!! I use mine to explore the desert of central Nevada. Ive put over 800 miles on mine in a touch over 3 months.
Right on! That's a lot of seat time! Yea these E-bikes are great for exploring since you can go much further than you would normally without feeling like you are going to die on the way back.
Me and my brother both have one. they are absolutely great! no issues at all. Between both of us we have about 800 miles or so. All of that has been on pretty rocky difficult trails, no street or bike path riding. the bike has been flawless!
About to pull the trigger on my second ebike. going from a becool adventurer (entry fat four fs, 750w geared hub) that I'd upgraded to cheap air front and rear suspension, controller mod etc. nearing 1500 miles on it. I am considering going to a 27.5" x 2.8"/3". bafang mid. alloy or carbon is fine. dislike that I can't put a kickstand on carbon or weld it up when I break the frame. -biktrix jug fs pro 2 (52v 17ah, M620, maybe add the 13ah second battery too) -Luna X2 or whichever one I can get Ludicrous. -Watt Wagons Hydra. (2300W with the archon x1 controller). 10A charger (I think it's 52v 14ah.. conflicting info) carbon rims, DVO front and rear air squish. claims of 40mph. I can get all of these bikes around the 4k range with the Hydra being lightly used by a dealer.
I 100% love the Luna X2. you cant go wrong with it. I don't think you need the ludicrous mode really. the bike is so fast as is. i rarely go above peddle assist 3. Let me know what bike you end up with and if you like it.
@@ElevatedVehicles it's beautiful, the power is unreal. I just rolled over 1500 miles abusive single track, high speed bombing around the golf course, jumping, wheeeeeeelies are never ending. Unless it's one of those accidental ones that end on your back. One cool feature is how great the torque sensor works. I removed the throttle. So if you have no throttle, you can go into the display and change the top assist speed to under 28mph, this will change the display to only show an output 750w and below and changed the max display speed.. but not the max go speed or go wattage. Just the display! So your a class 3 ebike. PAS only, 28mph, 750w or less. Also the bike rides beautifully.
Great video! So I want to put even smaller front sprocket on my Aventure..say maybe to 40 teeth ...to help with clearance and not keep bottoming out on rocks or stubs...do you think that would still work?
Yea i think it would work fine. changing the front sprocket is way better than doing the rear. the rear is too difficult to get working correctly with the shifting.
its not a click but an actual variable speed throttle. yes its left side but that took me one minute to get used to. shifter is on the right so I think to reduce crowding the put throttle on the left.
Have you ever put a larger chainring on? Like 50 or 52? Is that possible? Looking to match top speed with peddle input cadence. Any video suggestions about that?
