This is a rough one - I’m trying out using the prerolled d20s I have the players do at the start of the session (usually 3 rolls I keep track of for any secret rolls) for their roll and ask for their insight bonus - I give them signs that point to the weight or wrong answer based on whichever the result is - for example, you prerolled a 12 and add 4 for your skill and that is compared to the NPC’s roll or passive check for deception or persuasion - regardless of whether or not you succeed, I give you clues (like, “they look you right in the eyes when they tell you this” or “they’re sweating profusely”) - if you failed against an honest statement, you get the signs of dishonesty/liar tells - if you fail against a dishonest statement, you get signs of truth/truth tells - success gives you accurate signs, but regardless, the player is unaware of their actual roll
Funnily enough, there is an official 5e statblock for Master of Cruelties from the Ravnica book, but it seems to have its abilities inspired by the lore. All about enchantment powers for dominating people. Great ideas though, MTG is the perfect farm for new and unique creature features! Edit: some other thoughts are that some of these already kind of exists in various forms, like the bugbear dealing bonus 2d6 if they hit a surprised target is basically First Strike, while things with charge or pounce (centaur, bull like creatures, big cats) can be used as Trample.
AND THEY SMELL.... BAD... LIKE JUST IMAGINE IF THESE GINORMOUS BEINGS ALL CONGREGATED INSIDE A STRUCTURE, SO VAST IT HELD ENTIRE DUNGEONS, MONSTERS, HEROES, VILLAGES, TAVERNS, ETC. THERE WERE EVEN OTHER DIMENSIONS AND UNIVERSES. AND A LIBRARY OF CODEX THE SIZE OF GIANTS! ALL INSIDE OF BOXES THAT WERE PLACED ON SHELVES HIGHER THAN THE LARGEST MOUNTAINS. THESE NECK BEARDED COLOSSAI GATHER IN THIS STRUCTURE AND THROUGH THEIR WILL, THEY CONTROL VAST ARMIES TO CLASH AND COSMIC EVENTS TO COME TO PASS... YET THEY TREAT IT LIKE SOME FORM OF GAME... CASTING DICE THE SIZE OF BOULDERS TO DETERMINE A SETTING AND IT'S PEOPLES FATES. WITH ALL THAT SAID.. BACK TO THEIR STENCH.... THE HUGE STRUCTURES AIR IS A POISONOUS MIASMA OF FEAR, SHAME , AND THE LONELY STENCH OF PIZZA AND TACOS... SOMETIMES MASKED (HORRIBLY BTW) WITH ENTIRE CANS OF SOMETHING CALLED AXE BODY SPRAY.... BUT I'M SURE THIS IS ALL JUST A FEVER DREAM OF SOME PSYCHOTIC DWARVES....
boogers taste a bit salty, you ever eat boogers? I used to as a kid, now I just swallow snot without involving my fingers when I have a stuffy or runny nose
"You could either ignore this advice, or take it from me Be too nice and people take you for a dummy So nowadays he ain't so friendly Actually, he wouldn't of even made a worthy enemy" "(Friends) Is a term some people use loosely I'm real choosy on what I choose to let crews see" -Deep Fried Frenz
Booger-eating story aside, WHY HAVE I NEVER THOUGHT OF "not wanting to be famous" AS PART OF A CHARACTER?!?! My characters either want to be famous or don't care as long as they get paid. There have been a few rogues who don't want their identity known, but even they wouldn't mind hearing stories about some mysterious assassin who killed the king's brother
@@farman2table well if you think about it, eating consists of eating many different foods, which could acquaint to many different hobbies, one for each food eaten, so really, I am a hobby master
Black bear? Yeah sure i would chill in the woods with him. Dude wouldn’t care about me and if he did id smack him on the nose. Brown bear? Id take my chances with tyler.
There's 1 fatal bear attack a year on average in the US. There are nearly half a million SA cases REPORTED in the US every year. It also seems like it's meant to make men go "Well that's stupid cause..." which helps drive up engagement
@ShellyTheSeal I mean its pretty typical trolling behavior tbh, you make a flimsy argument to bait an obvious reaction and then harp on the reactions. Cringe on both sides tbh
