My problem with Smallville is that Clark should’ve never treated Lois as badly as he did in the 8th season when Lana returned. There should’ve been a love interest for Lois - even briefly- where Clark went ape$hit jealous.

Clark wants her. Like, I’m impressed he can control his heat vision wants her. It’s subtle, but it’s there in this scene. Whenever Lois’ vulnerability peeks from under thar facade, he just falls for her more. And by the end of this scene, it’s a combo of admiration and sexual desire.

He was pissed when she was Stiletto, and she is hurt right now, but in both instances they resolved the conflicts, and that’s why they’re a solid partnership. It’s all about being able to repair the hurt. I love that they start of as teenagers and are now grown adults handling the relationship challenges as adults.

I love grown up Clark. Young farm boy was endearing, but adult CK has a steady confidence. And I love the double meaning behind “only the one you make happen.” Solid writing and acting in this scene.
