Perhaps a push handle out to the side so you wouldn't have to negotiate the beams. I'm looking at building a diesel swingsaw now but using the same track as the bandsaw I built.
Thank you man, finally I got it, I did watch lots of swing blade sawmills, but nobody filmed so properly so I can understand it. Thanks again man.. Ben from France
Hi Troopy am in the process of making a mill following your design. I’m trying to figure out how you joined the blade shaft you had machined to the shaft on the bear co gear box. I’m also using a bear co gear box 7/8 shaft. What kind of coupler did you use? N does the coupler go through that bearing. Thanks for putting up the videos of your build. Any help you can give me would be much appreciated. And hi from Canada.
Lol. Seasoned Yellow Box! Patience on a 13HP. I've done some seasoned Grey Ironbark and Grey Gum. Something like F57 !!! with my 21HP. I always have a chuckle at the northern hemisphere millers, gallopping through their F5 green Douglass Fir and Baltic Pine. Nothing tougher than seasoned Aussie hardwoods. Lol.
I didn't do any modifications to the engine. All just bolt on parts. The engine was still going strong when I took the car off the road due to rust. Towed my caravan all over the place at 100 kph. Use an exhaust gas temp gauge and tune the fuel pump to the egts. I think 450 degrees is reasonable
Thanks Troopy, I downloaded your instructions took it to a welding shop We agreed on a price of not more than $5000.00 to fabricate it...I provided the gearbox, the blade and a twelve volts winch to raise and lower the bkade carriage. When the job was done and I went to collect the mill he wanted to charge me $17,000.00 and then drop the price to $12,000.00, I told him to give me back my blade, winch and gearbox, I'm still haven't received them...there are all types of crooks out here.
Hey man, can u try using hot steam injection in yer diesel to double or triple milage per gallon of fuel? U obviously have increadible problem solving abilities and building and designing abilities
Hi could you help me? with the lucas mill machine, what is the gearbox rotation speed in the saber cutting system? How does the engine's saber bar system work? can you make a step-by-step docking system video? what would be the value of the Lucas Mill differential gearbox? where to buy? Could you also show me , how to attach the saber bar to the engine ?
This might be stupid question but I have to ask...is it necessary to put a bearing between gearbox and blade? Would it work without bearing or is too far is span between the two?
Not sure off the top of my head. The specs are usually supplied with the gasket kit. The last step was 90 degrees. Should use new bolts too. Good luck.
@@troopy001 thanks that’s I though 39-44 the. 59 then 90 but I’ve found a few different torques like stage 1 then 2 then 90+10 degrees and nothing with my head glow plug broke super pissed no damage to engine just piece fell inside
Interesting, but you don't tell us wherefrom did you get the boss, holding the blade to the shaft. Did you buy it ? Did you make it ? Where and/or how ?
Hi Yosef. I it made by a machine shop one end to fit the blade. The other end to fit the shaft on the gearbox. Made from stainless. Can't remember what grade. Worked fine.
