No, they didn't sample Tchaikovsky. Red Velvet have only sampled a Classical piece in two of their songs. But PSYCHO in 2019 marked a significant shift in RV's sound. That was where they started really having their music influenced by classical and neo-classical music. Knock Knock, Bye Bye, and Marionette are great examples.
I looooooooove your reaction specifically with the detailed explanation and analysis (I was hoping there’s even more actually loooooool). I came here for I-dle but now you become the first (and only ) reaction RU-vidr I’ve ever subscribed ❤❤❤ please have more reaction like this!!!!!!
And I was thinking of YG (maybe because I always listen the song with MV) until you point out that the sound is in different genre. I think I’ll have a try to listen the song itself without visual to have a different (exciting) experience!!!
My favs was Vision and Fate✨✨❤️ Fate actually was suppose to be their title track but it they change it with Super Lady😭 @ SOYEON said that they have hard time recording Fate since it's their first time doing that genre and Minnie really was the one who get hard time the most that why they want Fate to be theit Title Track >IDK why some ppl hate those song like it's so magical song
Waiting for your analysis of this album and Thank you so much. By personal I like every Yuqi's song since her debut as song writer and I come to IDLE via Yuqi's solo album.😂 Anyway I also love Soyeon songs for this album are Revenge, Super lady and wife. But I love her solo 'Weather' the most.😊
You are very good, you can. See the difference between YG songs and Idle songs and point to the difference. Thanks very much.❤ Will see you in the album react next.
The last 4 cb after the 6th member departure (soojin), gidle song didnt have bridge (maybe), instead they put that "Singing together" section. Love your reaction😭 since there are only few reaction videos that focus on the music they produce.
my top 3 would be: 1. rollie, amazing hiphop feel to it love the production 2. 7Days, amazing vocals and love the pretty melody 3. Revenge, very interesting production just wished it was longer
Thanks for your reactionn. :) My favorite one is "Underwater". When Yeri started singing like "They can't love you like I love you" with an unexpected beat, I knew it would be my favorite. :D
So the end of We Are Young, Siyeon does the “I know your mind” line, then the first “because we are young” is Yoohyeon, second and third are Dami, and then “tomorrow will be bright, because we are young” is Sua, and the last “because we are young” is Gahyeon. Shatter is my favorite too! It’s such a plot twist and SUCH a killer live. I love the whole album and how they leaned into a kind of grungy EDM punk rock vibe. They killed it and showed the world that they can put their unique spin on anything. OOTD is very much tongue in cheek satire about how superficial the industry can be and how what people idolize about their looks and lifestyle is all heavily edited and far from the truth, but I love that they managed to strike a perfect balance between sending that message with the MV and making a genuinely awesome, confidence-boosting song!
At first glance you could think OOTD is about them being proud and happy with themselves, about confidence. I don't think that is it though. I have no idea if my theory is correct, but the fact that the album is called VersuS VillainS makes me think it is not this simple. So I believe this song is meant as a criticism of narcissism, vanity, materialism and also (maybe) the fast fashion industry. "OOTD" stands for "Outfit of the Day" after all, maybe useless instagram influencers posting videos of their outfit of the day, which also promotes fast fashion. The fact that fashion is moving ever faster is the most destructive industry to the planet apart from the fossil fuel industry. The Aral lake has all but disappeared because of the cotton industry for example. It would fit to the Villain image, and you can see in the MV that they are acting. It is shown in the scene where Yoohyeon and Handong are fighting, but then the camera is off and Handong helps Yoohyeon up. The main reason why I don't think it is about confidence or their own success is the line "Driving on the highway, drunken everyday, do you feel like a monster?" and the album title. That just doesn't fit. And there was the ymenehcra account posting about touching a crown is dangerous and other cryptic messages before the comeback. It could also be a big and well-hidden F*U to the Kpop industry, like the Nightmare arc probably was. The narcissism and materialism is definitely criticized here, and Dreamcatcher have been criticized a lot themselves because of their rock/metal concept, while other groups have been celebrated for using a guitar riff once in a song. And Handong standing in front of the camera with bruises all over her legs seems to be a comment on the merciless industry as well. The music is highly interesting as well. There still is rock there, but dialed back. The song structure is not what you'd expect at all, for me it is punk rock meets K-Pop. Not their usual spiel, but a very good progression. It takes a couple of listens to really appreciate it.
27:37 agree with this! yeah I listen that some girl group trying to be this "distorted sound" with their "girl-swag-power" kinda theme, not bad, but DC always have its own signature, and they are not "try-hard" to be heavy and powerful, cz they are already heaving that talent to be that heavy and powerful in terms of singing and performing! love this album!!
I think Shatter destroyed me. That song is epic in every sense. It took me on a trippy ride and allowed me to see things through music 🤣 its constantly on repeat. I love that it's about Medusa
Siyeon has very few lines in We Are Young. Gahyeon opens the song and the last line is her sweet voice. Dami and Sua lead up to Gahyeon's final 'Because we are young'. Siyeon gets the lines before Dami, 'I know your mind, yeah, because we are young.' This is actually my favorite song on the album, even if it is retro Eurobeat, because it shows the beauty of each member's voice. Ollounder has top billing on every song. The other composers are from outside the company. They bring one or more of them in occasionally to assist with albums. Korean Kpop composers are a small tight knit group and they all know each other. Ollounder's long time partner, LEEZ, left the company just before Bon Voyage so Ollounder needed more help than usual for this album.
Korean composers are the best in the world now. Western music became so stale and repetitive after it peaked in the 90s. If it wasn't for Kpop I wouldn't be listening to pop music at all. Koreans are not bound by the rules of Western music genres. They just take what they like from various mostly American genres and mix it together seamlessly. The strong melodic base Kpop is known for is still very prominent.
@@user-ej9bt6vb9h nope. it’s siyeon, dami x2, sua, gahyeon. the end of siyeon’s line does sound a bit like yoohyeon but it’s not, as for dami’s lines i have no idea where you got handong from.
Love this reaction, thank you for supporting dreamcatcher. I always love a more technical commentary on kpop songs, especially for my ults lol. Keep it coming, also I love your other content as well
