I have a strong aversion to Domingo, partly due to a serious issue that I prefer not to discuss. Additionally, his decision to transition to baritone was, in my opinion, one of his worst choices. What was he thinking? The performance I just heard was awful-so nasal and poorly produced. It's truly disappointing. For a much better experience, listen to E. Amartuvshin Enkhbat, Cornell MacNeil, or Leonard Warren instead. This current rendition is simply disgraceful.
I’ve never been an Oropesa fan. She used to sound very constricted and nasal, but boy!!!!! This is a world of difference 🎉 the sound, the phrasing, the colors, chest voice, breath control, TEXT!!!!! Just simply beautiful, probably the only singer nowadays that can sing Bel Canto
Perhaps the color of his voice is too bright for this role but the experience and knowledge of the Verdian style is undoubtedly, I think it is a worthy version of the work.

Due to Marton's big voice, I am sure this was exciting live in the theater. The quality of her sound and her technique leave a lot to be desired; from about 3:20 on she is mostly singing at the top of her lungs.

As time goes by, Caballé rises higher in the esteem of opera fans. Luckily, everything is recorded. No one can deceive us with biased accounts. The best among the best.
Kudos also to pianist/conductor Eugene Kohn. A born accompanist. For this George London medical care fundraiser concert both Horne and Sutherland take the briefest of bows and then walk over to Kohn and insist he bow with them. He somehow makes the piano sound like an orchestral score and knows every aspect of what the singer is likely to do - when they breath, when they want to stretch the tempo, when to accellerando - the whole bag of tricks. Both ladies are beaming at his true collaboration.
Una maravilla ...la música más preciosa que se va apagando poco a poco y creo que la están dando la extremaunción por culpa de las televisiones,la radio etc.para acabar con la ZARZUELA..yo de joven oyendo cantar alguna tonadillera a mis madres me emociona y tuve la suerte de cantar en el Orfeón Baracaldes de tenor pero en el coro...fué una etapa maravillosa de mi vida y lo último que he visto en directo hace unos años en el Euskalduna de Bilbao. Ahora,no oyes en ningún sitio nada de nada de la ZARZUELA,sin ninguna duda,la música más maravillosa. Menos mal que en RU-vid tengo la posibilidad de escuchar lo que quiero y tengo Zarzuelas enteras y fragmentos de todas ellas. Qué pena que la gente joven no conozca esta música
