Recognised the bike and your face (I'm good with faces) as soon as I saw the thumbnail haha. That's my gf and I with my vfr which you parked next to. We were on our way back home to Portsmouth after a failed Cornwall tour because of the terrible weather, we parked up only about 5 minutes before you guys got there. Was checking out the RT and coincidentally I've been researching them a hell of a lot recently so that's probably why your video came up. Ride safe!
What a coincidence haha. Im sorry you had such bad weather. I consider ourselfs lucky we didnt really had a lot of rain, even in Yorkshire. Isle of Wight is a great place for motorbikers. Im currently on a trip trough the Alps with the RT, will post some new stuff as soon as I am back home (no possibility to edit while im on the trip). One thing I can say is the RT is getting me trough every Mountain pass without problems so far :). Are you considering buying one, or just common interest? Have a save ride and who knows we meet again (more or less, haha)
@@nielsonwheels83 awesome, yep I've been meaning to get to the IOW on the bike. Maybe in September, just before we head to Bilbao for a tour of the Pyrenees with the bike on the ferry. Enjoy the rest of your Alps trip, we did a 2 week tour of Europe last August including Stelvio pass on my old vfr750 which had only 2/3 cylinders firing at any one time and I lost the rear brake on the way down too haha so would've really appreciated an RT! Yes considering buying one if I end up selling my gsxr 1000 for the winter. Was looking at the 1100 but now thinking I may as well get the 1200, it's better in almost every way apart from looks. Will keep looking around. Cheers and yes maybe we'll bump in to each other at some point 😉.
@@nielsonwheels83 Thanks for the answer, unfortunately most splitters only support headphones and not a microphone. At least that's how I understand the descriptions in the offers.
Hi struggling to get it working when paired with another sena, also mesh won't work am I doing something wrong. had it working on Bluetooth with just one set....Paul
I got the same struggle, it seems like the bluetooth can only connect to 1 other device. Wich is odd, because when connecting to a phone, there is no issue.
Thanks for sharing your trip with us. I have a 2004 R1150RTP (police version) and the same happened to me, I dropped it, scratched the cylinder head, cracked the mirror and broke one of the pannier hinges... Get yourself one of those head protectors, they are cheap and easy to install (no need to remove the fairing). Looking forward to the next one.
Hi Maarten, nice you got the same bike in police version. You enjoy your bike? I will need a noew protector now, since it broke off during this drop. If it would not have the protector on it, the cilinder head would probably beaten up even worse...See you in the next episode ;-)
Nice video, I shall go back and watch the first one. That wasn't really a crash, your bike was just a bit sleepy and fancied a lie down. I've got a GS and have let it have a bit of a sleep a few times. That's what the crash bars are for . Ride safe.
It just wasnt a smart move of me making this turn on a steep road full of gravel ghehe. Unlike the GS, the RT only has some plastic cover. The cover broke when the bike was falling on the side. Thanks for your comment and ride safe on the GS:)
The road is closed about a half mile further ahead due to a cliff fall/landslip, it may even become permanent which is a great shame as it is a major road into Ventnor and further along the coast. That area is known for landslips but this latest one is quite serious. Sorry to see your fall, hope everything is OK .... maybe you should have taken the parking and walked up to the top for the view.
Yeah it was a bit dissapointing we could not continue this route. So I drive back and took an alternative route. So I guess this road will be closed for some longer time then?
@@nielsonwheels83 It looks that way, they are installing monitoring equipment to see if it is still moving. There is also some movement the other end of Ventnor that needs attention so at the moment there is only one way in and out of the town.
Nice trip, Niels! Some steep roads, I guess? "depth" isn't really captured well on (any) camera, but I think it was steep? Did the beemer struggle with this? Looking forward to the next episodes Cheers, Rolf
Hi Rolf, it really was a nice trip, thanks. I can imagine its not always very visible on camera, but there were some very steep curves on the roads in England (up to 20%!), which was a bit of a challenge with a fully loaded bike. The BMW handled very well though, no problems with getting up steep climbs. The next episode will cover footage of the Isle of Wight, where we had even more stunning sights.
I just got back from a short holiday and have tested it. So far the mesh functionality switched off while I had the dongle paired (as phone), so I didnt manage to get the MESh conversations on the action camera, sadly
@@nielsonwheels83 IM WRONG THOUGH, the body was shaped by björn envall the follover of sixten sason. he was swedish. but many finns worked in the sweden and finland for saab, so i think many techical things were made by finns, and the car was only manufactured in finland. so its 80% finnish but its a finnish icon. wery appreciated model.
