Printer Pete's friends would describe him as hard working, gung ho, and dedicated - always ready to tackle any job. He enjoys a good cup of coffee, bird watching, and is a big Anime fan. He'd like to share with you the joy of watching 3D prints come to life with a variety of time-lapse and real-time recordings, up close and personal in the belly of the printer. Various projects include experimental shapes and settings that result in a mixture of successes and fails.
Printer Pete is a Bambu Lab X1 Carbon 😃. For the most part it's easy to work with, plus it's enclosed which is one of the biggest factors I considered when buying it. If you're comparing models I found this video to be a good reference: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bWM45yJOI7g.htmlsi=BpZzS6in-_AvRGG_
@@PrinterPete thanks I think I will buy the p1s since it’s more than half the price of the x1c and the printer is the same. The difference is the x1c has faster software and a touchscreen and a first layer sensors. So p1s should be fine for me, may end up putting an ams on it!
Skirt might help. Turn your skirt settings on(i, myself wondering why it works, since it's not attached to model itself, but, yet, it works. Additionally check your fan settings on first couple layers.
I wonder how this stuff happens. Im on my first fdm machine by a week now and I'm already at 83 hours of printing, still have to see an issue but I'm always worried!
Look at the bottom of the print, very early on it warps and lifts off the bed, this causes the piece to detach from the bed mid-print 90% of the time, and bad dimensions and print quality 100% of the time. This happens when you cool the print too aggressively or when the height of the first layer is not spot on.
Not gonna lie that kind of trips me out how I was so focused I missed the watermelon then I read the description after was like “what watermelon” then yea idk man
consider using a different material for the support interface layer, such as PETG. It'll take longer and be a bit wasteful but you'll end up with a nicer end product
lol mostly cause of user error. I never had a print fail that I couldn't fix with either editing the model itself, orientation change, more supports, or old fashion glue stick.
