Hello Friends,
There are many a times you are looking for those small notes on small/ big topics of Architecture Education. Notes will be put randomly to help students in their work.

The channel aims at student audience.

One important thought. Nothing can replace class room teaching and hard work during self study. I can only try and make the understanding simpler.
Take notes in class and during this video also. It will help you remember things better.

All the Best

The cross slope of 2 to 3% is to be mentioned. Then only slope between outer and inner portions are achieved

thank you so much. Can you also suggest the angle of a ramp built for vehicles to go for the basement. Especially for passenger cars and vans.

For a vehicular ramp 1 in 8 is the maximum permitted, 1 in 12 is good ramp I'm sorry for the late reply

Hi, it gives very fare idea about all aspects of curved ramps. I have a question regarding vehicular circular ramps (4.0 mts wide) which goes upto 3.6 to 4.5 mt height (from one floor to another floor) with circular ramps. Need to know whether there is a need to provide banking on the outer edge of the ramp as provided in curved roads or the ramps. ? Just let me know if there is any reference available for studying this. Thank You

Thank you. This is exactly what I was looking for. Very simply, yet clearly explained. One of those rare and delightful RU-vids that are done with a volition to make the process clear and easily understood. I have a long and irregular curved garden ramp. Now understand how it can be done section by section. Appreciate your effort 🙏🏻

Thank you for your video. However in your case 2, the height of the handrail while standing at the landing will be higher than the height of the handrail from the staircase pitch line. Instead of extending the last step at the landing of the downwards staircase by one step, you should have pushed back the first step at the landing of the upwards staircase by one step. That way, your handrail height will always be consistent and they will still meet at the landing, while maintaining your clear width of the staircase at the landing. My 2 cents.

Thanks for this clarity! I came to watch the video solely on how to make compliant handrails at the dog leg. Case 1 isn't IBC compliant. I see from your explanation Case 2 could be compliant! Unfortuantely handrails are the afterthought to stair design and I see why many Inspectors miss it or turn away! I just don't know hot to correct in the field. eeep
