Hi Colleen! We hadn't driven on a beach in years. The last time was when we were in Daytona Beach years ago. We went over quite a few interesting bridges. Hi Colleen! We loved Oregon! I could see living there if you didn't have to be a U.S. citizen. No, we missed the donut shop. We did find Krispy Kreme doughnuts a couple of times, and a place in Las Vegas. LOL The weather was beautiful, but the temperatures became very hot shortly after this. Still better than this cold damp weather. We didn't have any fancy meals on the trip as we were on a budget, but I felt sooo bloated towards the end of the trip. 🐷😛
Used to go to DT almost weekly but since all the price increases ,rarely go.Dollarama is getting my money more now.Your gingerbread stuff use are very cute.TFS

Ihope you will do a vlog on your trip to the states.I love that the Dollar Trees have frozen food.They have such neat stuff.Did you bring any tasty treats home to test taste?
I could do a vlog on the trip. It would make sense to do it after the videos have all aired. Yes, it is nice that they have frozen food there. One store had 2 for 1 ice cream bars by the checkout. We both got those Strawberry Shortcake bars. We hadn't had those in years! My problem was that Dave really didn't want to spend a lot of time looking at dollar store stuff. I would have liked to have looked a lot harder, but he wasn't interested at all. He wanted to get going, and when I tried to look at food, he said that he wasn't interested in looking at food. This is why I usually shop without him in tow. 😒

Good morning Julie 😊. You look beautiful as always. Love the colour of your top. It is so unfortunate that the prices are going up at Dollar Tree. Lovely little tree and sign. The little pumpkins are so cute and vintage looking. We have that snowman mug, I picked it up when I was in Ontario last year and it's my daughter's favourite mug. Love the gingerbread houses and the gingerbread tree sounds lovely. That is the cutex I use and love it. Cute face cloths and towels. Hello Julie. I love your idea of a gingerbread Christmas tree.Those gingerbread sitters from Homesense are adorable. You found some great things!Good work digging for them! It sure was a wild night with rain and win.We drove up to Campbell River .It was a bit scary. I was in Texas a few weeks back.I sure enjoyed shopping at the Dollar Tree where stuff was 1.25!(I wish I had brought a much bigger suitcase so I could have brought more Dollar Tree stuff back!) Hi Colleen! I just might do the gingerbread tree. I have one tree that's lights were giving me nothing but grief, so I think I'll have to put all new lights on it. Red and white lights should be good for a gingerbread tree. I could put my candy cane ornaments on it. I thought that gingerbread couple at Home Sense were adorable. I really did have to dig to find the second one. What a strange way for them to display them. Some places had a lot of rain and flooding! I wouldn't have liked to drive in it either. I really liked looking at stuff in the Dollar Tree stores in the U.S. too. Dave was getting pretty annoyed after a while. I lost track of how many DT's that we went into. LOL We drove up to Englishman River Falls today to see how high the water was. Definitely very high! You have a nice weekend and stay warm and dry too.
Hi Sonya! It was a long bridge! I had the video sped up so it wouldn't take as long to show it. We loved the Oregon coast. So beautiful, but quite chilly when we were near the water. I hope you're having a nice weekend. I saw some footage from Waterford Pumpkinfest. The skies looked nice and blue. :)
Hi Julie, you look all ready for Christmas! Some people are saying that their dollar trees base price is $1.75! The gingerbread man and gingerbread girl are the sweetest! I really like the gingerbread house ornaments as well. That is a very nice gingerbread sign. That snowman mug is big enough to put a little Christmas gift together with some hot chocolate and marshmallows or chocolates etc.....Have you started your Christmas shopping? I have a few things for the grandkids even though I will have to give them to them early so they don't think they are Christmas presents. We're having quite warm weather this weekend 22°c it got up to.
Hi Sonya! I'm a long way away from being ready for Christmas, but I'm almost ready for Halloween. I can't find my lights for the front window though. Did they somehow end up in a Christmas tote? They weren't in the fall or Halloween totes. I might have to buy some on Amazon because I can't find them in the stores. The price jump at Dollar Tree is just too much. Like I said, it's one thing to put up the prices of some things, but when you raise ALL of the prices, there's something seriously wrong with that! I couldn't resist those gingerbread items, and I have my eye on some other ones that we saw today....The snowman mug is big, and yes, it would be great to put other things into to give as a gift. I've only bought one thing for Christmas so far. I have some ideas for Dave, but I haven't a clue as to what to get for Richard and Amelie yet. There was major flooding on the mainland from the atmospheric river that's been going by this weekend. You're so lucky to have such nice weather. Check this out. Hi Julie Love your gingerbread finds 😊 I find the dollar tree chocolate far more expensive than dollarama. I only buy it at dollar tree (waterbridge) if dollarama does not carry it. Take care
Hi Elaine! If Dollar Tree keeps raising their prices, they'll be putting themselves out of business. They're getting more expensive than Dollarama in a lot of areas now. Dollarama carries better quality products for the most part, so DT shouldn't be raising their prices like they're doing unless they upgrade their product lines. A great haul Julie. I totally agree with you about all these price increases. I find myself constantly saying to myself……do I really need this because it really mounts up at the check out. I can’t resist gingerbread men and ladies. I am drawn to them. Just ordered from Temu, wooden gingerbread related items for my tiered tray, two cushions- girl and boy gingerbread and a gingerbread tablecloth for our round kitchen table. Now I would love those two gingerbread people that you found. They are really cute. Yes, it is going to be a very wet weekend. A good weekend for just staying cozy and warm by the fireplace with a good book. No garden work this weekend. Still have bulbs to plant. Take care and have a cozy weekend Julie.
Hi Colleen! Thank you so much! Yes, the prices are becoming a problem. You do have to ask yourself whether you really need things now. I would love to see the gingerbread items that you bought. They sound adorable! I'm on 'Gingerbread Christmas lovers' on Facebook and you see all sorts of cool gingerbread items on there! We saw lots of clips of flooding on the mainland. Just terrible. It wasn't too bad here. You take care too and stay warm and dry. :)
@@Julie_at_MyWonderfulBCLife The rain fall has been unbelievable. I heard that a few polling stations were closed due to flooding. We live on a hill and it is like a river running down our driveway. We just had new seals put on our double carport doors- vertically and horizontally. So we are all high and dry. When my Temu gingerbread order arrives, I will send you a pic. Hope my gingerbread cushions are as cute as yours. When our kids were little we made gingerbread cookies to decorate a small tree. Lots of fun. My son at the time was around 4. When we got up the following morning, most of the men were missing their legs. Mmmmm….guess who had a cookie feast. I think his sister was in on it too. She was 7. Still laugh about the legless tree.
@@colleenmckinlay2916 It's raining here again. We had heavy rain yesterday morning, but most of the day it was very light. Most of the rain seemed to be going around us. I'd love to see those gingerbread items. That is so funny about the missing legs. I could totally see that happening! 😂😋

Hi Gemini! Our trip was fun but needed to be a lot longer. We stopped in at a Dollar General store in the U.S. and their prices were ridiculous. They were all over the place. There's no point in calling yourself a dollar store if most of your prices aren't even close to that anymore. Thank you so very much and I hope that you're having a great weekend!
@@Julie_at_MyWonderfulBCLife Hello my friend❣️Yes you are right about the dollar stores..all of them are getting up there in price for anything any good..I mean you can but pot scrubbers and baggies and toothpicks fairly cheap at all stores, and its becoming that those are the only cheap items..I have realized that for a while now and that's why my dollarama haul videos are every couple weeks now because it's the 70-100 buck store now🤷🏼♀️I hope you and Dave have a wonderful blessed Sunday my dear friend🥰🥰❤️❤️

They always have great seasonal stuff in their giftshops. I have never been in a hobby lobby. I can just imagine what they are like this time of year. Awesome you finally got some of the socks! Hi Sonya! Thank you so much! I didn't see any Cracker Barrels. Maybe they're not on this side of the country? Hobby Lobby is HUGE!!! It's like the size of a Walmart, but filled with craft and decor items. Heaven from my perspective, but Hell from Dave's. LOL I was so pleased to get some of the cool socks, and I had to buy that bear to honour my brother Dave. My videos from the trip will be airing every other day until they're all up. I didn't want to flood my channel with too much at once. LOL

If they are upping the price the quality has to be there. I'm the same as you, I like the scenic route. When I go to the states the back of the jeep is full and then some lol. I leave hubby in the car lol. Omgosh that butter dish is everything ❤. Great cap for Dave. The bear is so cute. The US Dollar Tree has amazing socks, and you picked up a great selection. The tiered tray is so cute. The gingerbreads are adorable. We usually add on a US plan with our provider for the time we are away, it's usually about $50. I'm excited to see your other videos. Hi Missy! Thank you so much! The holiday was far too short, but it was still very nice. We both needed the time away. Dollar Tree is bringing in some items, but mostly in the food department. They're just raising the prices on pretty much everything, regardless of whether the item is worth it or not, and that isn't right. I love taking the scenic route. I should leave Dave in the car. LOL He was good about getting me some stuff though, including the butter dish. We were told that U.S. coverage would be $14.00 per day, which would really add up over the course of two weeks. It was suggested that we just buy a 30 day SIM card down there. It worked great, and I loved the 5G that it had, but not having my usual phone number wasn't convenient, and it would have cost me to phone Canada. Omgosh this man was born to impersonate Prince. I couldn't walk in those boots let alone dance in them lol. My birds are dancing to the music and watching lol. Wow the vocals! He is so funny 😊. This brings back so many memories 💜. I love that you gave this gift to Dave for his birthday and also I feel you gave all of us this gift as well, so thank you my friend. I'm having a blast🎉. Hi Missy! 😃 He was fantastic! I could honestly watch him all day long! 😍 I loved the richness of his voice when he wasn't singing the falsetto parts too. I'd love to hear him sing songs when he isn't impersonating Prince to hear what he would sound like then. He is funny too, and very seductive at times. 🥰 I wish he hadn't spent as much time on the other side of the stage. Dave and I agreed that he was playing up to the group of ladies that were on that side. The ones who held the fan up to him. I'm so glad that you are enjoying this video, and that Harley and Theo are too! When he sang Purple Rain, he stayed in one spot for a large part of the song, so I was finally able to really zoom in on him. He was on the move most of the time, so I had to follow him as he moved, and you can't be zoomed in close at those times. I never had the chance to see the real Prince. I would have loved to have seen him. His death came as a huge shock to me, as I'm sure that it did to us all. Such a huge loss. This singer is Bettis Richardson. He's a singer, dancer and actor. Hi Julie, go with your instinct and keep adding the rest of the witch's hat add ons. It's gonna be a showstopper for sure! The different ribbons go together really well. That's great that the tribute band turned out to be amazing. My husband has seen a few tribute bands and this past Saturday he saw a Journey tribute band.
