Top-notch tractors is about cub cadets. The channel includes rebuilding them, getting them back to working order, and showing them off. Also, I'm just having a great time working with the tractors.
Just subscribed. We have several letter series farmalls. One is a H. Those are step head high compression pistons. Most likely aftermarket? possibly M&W increased bore ?
That’s got a ton of potential but if it hasn’t run in years you might want to put some 30 weight oil in each spark plug hole and let it sit for a day or two and do that a few times just in case there’s some sticking valves and just before you start it take the spark plugs out again and crank it over until you see the oil pressure gauge moves up a little and then you can test for spark at the same time and that way it will cushion the first start but you probably know all this so have fun and I think your Uncle Jim would appreciate that your going to get the Cub up and running again 😀🇨🇦
I have learned most of the times you free up a siezed engine. It isnt a really successful fix. the piston rings get stuck in the ring lands and they have low compression and burn oil.
The engine in our H was stuck. We used a porta power to press the pistons down and out after we removed the crankshaft. Had to heat the block with the fire wrench. We have video of that on our channel.
The 4th piston was locked up we got it to move a just a bit,but we ended up using a bottle jack with a chain around the frame and a socket to push piston 3 down.
