Just started mailing lawbringer and I was decent at parrying I could parry most heavies sent my way but lights always made me hate the game been practicing like this every day for half an hour and I can handle lightspam a lot easier I’ve even parried lightspam pretty easily from orochi so TYSM it really worked for me :)
I got Warmonger in the recent sale. After taking her into brawls I ended up having consistent frustration against a lightspamming Nobushi. This video'll definitely help me get Warmonger to punish harder and to just parry better.
As a console player who light Parry's daily on Xbox original gen. Let me tell you right away that if you see red and your trying to parry it for the light your too late. You have to slap your stick and the heavy button before just as the animation goes off. For those trying to see what side the animations coming from without the hud you are and aren't wasting your time. Worst to worst you eat a light or you let it hit your block casually to feel their moves out. Say I'm JJ and your you. If you eat a left side light , the moment you hear flesh and steel you should already be hitting your right stick to the direction while hitting rt (heavy) simulataneously (especially if your reflex)/ guard) that you think the (possible) second light in the opponents chain will come before my animation starts, (not counting delays) just as you get hit from thee initial attack try to Remember that if you see red your already pressing your attempt to late. Has to be almost just between the moment you just got hit and before his animation goes off for the second u gotta be there first. Your Rs+RT (heavy parry) (Xbox) has to be imprompted almost slightly before or just as your opponent's finger presses RB (Light) (in real time) imagine what that would look like in your head. Lastly Remember button imprompt. Good luck - fighting bots in training is fine and dandy but in order to practice light parrying people who soft feint opener back to a light on the opposite side into combo, bots won't help you improve much to this. It's gotta be worked into your muscle.memory. if you can hear steel when you block odds are the next time you go to block there you can parry it too. Trust your senses keep your right stick from touching the plastic edges as best you can and if you have stick drift stop beleiving you can play at 1 deadzone. That's it. If anyone wanna run some games sometime lmk your gt. Hope this helps someone.
I'm sorry, but who the fuck is this game exactly made for? It used to be so fun, I played since season 1 and about after season 3 it started going downhill. It's fucking impossible to just block the fucking orochi. Nevermind parry. I can BLOCK only around 20% accuracy. What the actual fuck? Moveset I did was: 1 Light 1 Zone 1 Forward kick And this isn't even adding in storm rush which can come from all angles. Bot only does it from one side sadly. I play vs ppl who can parry on reaction. Not only that they can distinguish if I throw out a heavy or not, so it's not like you can abuse their will to parry against them.
Ok, i get how to parry, but how do you "throw" your enemy right after you paried his strikes, i mean how do you push your enemy (idk how to express myself) ?? Like this 2:14 you pushed your enemy to the right side after parry
you will never parry lights on consoles under any circumstances, you will never be able to react to lights, stop wasting your time "training" parries because it won't help, several people who played and knew how to parry lights on PC and played on console already reported that it is extremely difficult even to defend light this game has never been, is not and most likely never will be a game where skill will be required let alone rewarding, you can train 30 minutes a day to get good at a little online game and an idiot with a broken character can come and beat you just spamming lights (and of course you won't be able to parry) It's obvious that there are people who have thrown away any and all remnants of humanity and just live inside For Honor as if it were a religion, these people we call pro players, and it's obvious that they're going to parry lights and play really well, and it's That's when I ask you: Is For Honor a game made for casual people or pro players? Is it just a game for good people with quick reflexes? so why do you keep playing?
I've sat here for an hour doing what he said and my reaction time isn't fast enough to even consistently block lights coming from different directions. Like I love this game to death, but it's infuriating how I get matched against players who parry every neutral, combo, an or otherwise light and I just can't fucking do it for the life of me. Idk why, I'm so much twitchier in other games but in this one I get shit on and taunt spammed by r1 warriors. I've broken several controllers and headsets over this game but the good games where it all depends on the mixup and mind game are so fun that I can't stop. Idk what to do, but I'm losing my mind here
Thanks man this should help, I play cent and every time I parry a couple of someone's heavy attacks and give them a knee to the face they just start with the light spam, Great detailed video new sub keep up the good work.
Great video...don't like you manhandled my Orochi charater (lol) though. I also loved how you summarized everything you went over at the end of the video. Great brief overall!
An important thing to note is that if your opponent is parrying your lights, it's because you're not throwing enough raw heavies. Don't feint every heavy because they'll just feint upon seeing it's not a light so if you just let it rip there's a good chance you'll hit them.
Doesn't help when the player you play against has enough reaction speed to distinguish if it's a heavy or not. Yes these players exist, and yes I fucking hate playing against them. And yes every time I do I wish someone would demolish ubisoft's HQ. They balanced it like this so people CAN'T parry on reaction and turtle. But they balanced it just enough so that there are a select few unicorns who can just stomp you into dust and still turtle. Throwing raw heavies will do absolutely nothing.
