Maybe if he hadn't caned the booze (and other substances) and lived cleaner he would have won several world titles. But he wouldn't have been the personality that packed out venues up and down the country.
Jimmy and his parents often visited a social club near Tooting Bec in London. A full-size snooker table was upstairs and a very young Jimmy wearing short trousers was eager to pick up a snooker cue and play the balls! Why should he give up? He plays cause he loves the game,so what if he's not winning tournaments,he doesn't need the money he just needs to play the game it's in his blood
Think we forget how good Jimmy was.He was an exceptional natural talent right up there with Alex Higgins and Ronnie O'Sullivan.Still the most exciting player to watch for me.
