The big thing you need to watch out for with Sunday driver is to avoid offroading. Unfortunately it's implemented as a power reduction on the car vs a speed limit so you tow and offroad way worse. I used to take it all the time but it basically turns late game overgrowth into glue
This series has inspired my own Louisville run. I've had an incredible day 1 start so far. I spawned in a tool store, giving me access to plenty of weapons and tools from the start, plus a bag and a protective hat. Next door was a candy shop (chips and soda for days), and not too far away was a fairly unpopulated gated community, where the second house was a busted in survivor home containing tons of more weapons. Crossing my fingers this run will be the one. Looking forward to binge watching this series!
14:32 No! You have a thunder gas much closer than that. See that tiny green square that is with that one brown one in that one block about two blocks south-east of your house? That's it. Dang impressive job getting to the foss oil though. The entire west point population likes to hang on that highway corner.
5:39 oi! quit breaking into my house! :D Yep, that's my burger flipper / west point starter / base house. Go straight down the street to the mechanic shop / spiffos and east across the field then down to get to the gun store / bar. Such a great location I just had no reason not to stay there.
No not fire, I've enjoyed you not using any fire in you videos, too many people just use fire to clear out zombies and I hate that it always backfires on theme and they end up burring buildings down

rip up the floor? and steal some nice carpet from somewhere? :P EDIT : i did that to the fire station base got rid of the brown carpet and stole nice blue carpet from the school for the lounge and velvet carpet for the bedroom i stole spiffo restaurant floor tiles for the garage. Nice
There was a second fanny pack upstairs in the house on the corner (@ 3:52). IDK if you have a reason to not wear two fanny packs, but you can have them doubled up.
I came to the conclusion with testing that why even wear them at all? I save weight by just putting the stuff in my main backpack as they have a higher weight reduction effect on the items. I saved 2 units at least not having fanny packs at all.

5:30...ish could you not place some floor boarding over the stair well rather than builld a fencing? plus I think you should try and loot a bookshelf for your inevitable collection of XP boosters
I want the fences so I can hang sheet ropes over them and have easy access to the interior of downstairs. I also kind of like how it looks. Yeah a bookshelf would look nice. Cheers!
Yea, I never bothered either, it's too easy to just jump out the window instead. I actually prefer ground level bases anyway. I solve the window problem by destroying the window wall and building a new full wall. No window or board to bash on then, only one way in the front door.
Oh man, so lucky with that clown room. I like to go around and look in windows first or just let them break out if I can't see in because of that. Ever have to do the start again because you say Dusty instead of Billy? Anyway, you're doing great here now. As for my new guy, passed the helicopter event just fine in LV because I always clear the block around my house in the early days. Plus it did help I had a house alarm on about day 4. Drew in a lot of the locals I then took care of so there just wasn't anything left to draw in with the helicopter. I did reach a point of hopelessness after that, it's a huge city, where do I go from here? It's going to be next to impossible to do what I do in every other city, fully clear it. There are just so many houses. I then spied a fire station just to the north, I decided I'm going to clear and work up to that and move base there. It'll be the largest base building I've ever been in. I usually just stick to my starter house. Right now is just finishing my current area by looting all of the garages. So many garages and so much metal working gear to be had.
With making videos for YT I do have to make some decisions on how much I want to game things. Jump scares make entertainment value, so as much as I hate jumping, I open the door and swing not knowing if there is a Zombie there or not - if there is then panic ensues and people get a good laugh. Same reason I don't do "door flashing" as it takes some of the excitement and suspense out of the moment. Your play through sounds really fun!
@@TheMickZed Fair enough. :) I too dislike the door flash, I actually took up your method of the open and swing too. Saved my behind quite a few times. I actually changed my direction from the firehouse base, I saw a very nice high fenced Cul-de-sac not far from where Dusty was. I'm now working up the street towards that, just got up to the News now network building.

Shame about the broken lock on the fire truck. I was told however if you remove then reinsert the door it won't be broken anymore. Also that fire truck has an alarm....... maybe..... :) That house alarm though gave you a small taste of the amount of zombies that are always around you hiding. That axe has really saved your butt, very lucky to have it. I also retired my last Police officer playthrough, he cleared rosewood, looted fort redstone and did the march ridge apartments. With probably going on to 2000 units of weight of guns and ammo, most being high powered military munitions, I think he's set. Just started a new one in louiseville. I'd never been in it before. I also think I spawned at a pretty sweet house, literally south across the street from a gas and go, booze store and bakery on the east side of the city. The grand ohio to the north and another smaller mall to the south. Still on first day, priority is to clear the immediate block of zoms and houses of books, food and weapons/tools before the helicopter. I think I'll just explore the town and then set up at the fort to the far east, no plans to actually leave the city as such. Anyway, we're rooting for Billy. He's doing better each day. Hopefully you'll come to like this town once you get a bit further in. And man, I was hoping those annotated maps would be the boarded up office building one in West point. The text on it was something like "managed to board them all in before leaving work", or something like that. That was crazy, so many zombies busting the whole building to bits from the inside, guaranteed death if you went in. And nope, it didn't make it a survivor house for me, there was actually nothing but zoms inside.
Told you the ice pick is very effective for a low level weapon. :) I was surprised too. Shame it's so rare. You were in a pretty good place for that helicopter. You've passed that so you should be fine to survive now. Your huge experience with short blunt will help deal with working with short blade. You're also one block away from the school to the west just up the very street your house is on and its library or two blocks to the south-east from the thunder gas and downtown. I think you'll start to like west point from now, just keep chill and watch those freaking trees, trust me, you're surrounded by a few hundred zombies all the time, just can't see them. Oh yea at the end clearing behind your house, keep that clear as the riverside is a good place to do trapping. That open field is good to just run across to set them and ups your sprinting too. Once you get to downtown you'll find how much of a walk/runnable town this is, it's all so close. That's what made me like west point the most.

BEWARE of stairs i was running away from zombies on the second floor and got half way down the stairs and 2 zombies fell on me from above and bite me 3 times BITTEN !
I use the pumps have propane mod instead. Here we have gas and fuel at the fuel stations so it's proper world, especially for 1993. The one that cuts their usage is just cheating to me.

@@TheMickZed Oh yea, and the storage lots south east of town have generators too, you'll seriously not even need to bother after finding 3 of them; one for your house and one for each of the two fuel stations. I also hope you find the roadworks event too, that can spawn a sledge on the ground or in the truck bed. Good luck to find the generator book, keep checking every mail box and good thing there is a book store and an even better book store (post office) in the same street in town.
I did a test run of true knifes only where I tried using pens, pencils and stone knives but it just was not enjoyable at all as everything broke after 1 or 2 swings. Found myself getting frustrated and I don't play games to get frustrated. So I'm just doing a less strict knife build where I will use knives where possible but not limiting myself to just using them if I run out of knives.
Umbrellas are spears. Need to head east then down; Mechanics workshop and spiffos is there along with gigamart and you're just one block then for downtown. It's all very close together that part of the city. Forget the west for now, the only note worthy places is the school and a small shop. You're doing pretty good for weapons, I had to shove and stomp about 40 zombies around my house that kept on migrating in, even with zombie migration off they still wander naturally, before I started to find the holy grail of beginning short blades; kitchen knives. For short blade; hand forks, knives, ice picks, (very good low level weapon), stakes, screw drivers, cleavers, hand trowels, hand scythe, scalpels, scissors and all that other err, "garbage" we'd leave behind you'll be best served picking up while you can. For curtains, use the pickup command and you'll then use the put command to transfer the curtain as a curtain instead of a sheet.
I found kitchen knives to be incredibly weak and not at all durable so I've been avoiding them. As far as I can tell so far the only ones worth using are the ice pick, screw driver, meat cleaver and hunting knife. No shortage of screwdrivers in this game thankfully! I prefer to grab the curtains as sheets rather than as curtains as then I have the option to use them as sheet ropes or window covers. Cheers!
@@TheMickZed As I said you're doing very good for weapons, I had to use every single short blade I could no matter how long it lasted. The kitchen knife was a huge upgrade to the garden fork. :) I just mentioned the curtain thing because I prefer the look of the curtains on windows instead of the sheet. There is zero want for sheet ropes when you dispatch a few zeds, you'll have more sheet ropes than you'll ever need from their clothes.
the game wants to kill us lol i was wearing a BULLET PROOF vest and a tree scratched me through the vest. It put a hole in the vest too hahaha im like its bullet proof?
